Streamlight Ultra II Large Arbor Fly Reel

Frequently Asked Questions

• Q: Does this reel include fly line and backing?

A: No, fly line and backing are not included. That way, you can choose the line and backing that best match your rod and the fishing you do.

• Q: How do I choose the right size Streamlight Ultra II reel for my rod?

A: Choose the reel size that matches your rod's fly line weight. This reel is offered in multiple sizes for different line weights, including options designed for 3-5 wt and 7-9 wt lines. If you are between sizes, consider the backing capacity you want for your setup.

• Q: What kind of drag does this fly reel have?

A: It uses a carbon fiber disc-drag system. It is designed to deliver smooth, strong control while helping protect fine tippets when a fish runs.

• Q: What are the benefits of a large arbor fly reel?

A: A large arbor retrieves line more quickly than a standard arbor design. It also stores line in larger loops, which helps reduce coiling and makes line management easier.

• Q: What is the reel made of and how is it finished?

A: The body is machined from lightweight 6000-series aluminum for precise, smooth operation. It has a deep anodized finish for corrosion resistance, and a skeletonized design to keep overall weight down.

• Q: Is this a good choice if I want a capable reel without paying premium prices?

A: Yes, it is built to give you smooth drag control, fast line pickup, and solid corrosion resistance at a more approachable price point. This updated version also features an improved drag and a more streamlined look.
