FAQs
Coverage describes how much of the body a swimsuit covers at the chest, torso, back and bottom. Each area can have a different level of coverage within the same design.
A one-piece generally covers the torso, while a two-piece has a separate top and bottom. Cutouts, necklines and the space between pieces can change how much skin either style covers.
Higher necklines generally cover more of the upper chest than lower or plunging necklines. Back coverage is a separate detail, so a high neckline can still be paired with an open back.
Higher-cut leg openings expose more of the hip, while lower-cut openings cover more of that area. Neither cut alone tells you how much rear coverage a swimsuit provides, so compare both details.
High-waisted swim bottoms cover more of the midsection than lower-rise styles, but they don't necessarily offer more coverage everywhere. Look at the waistline, leg openings and rear cut separately to choose the coverage you prefer.
