Rated 1 out of 5 by PCD1 Very disappointed with this coat
I bought this coat for days when the temperature would be 40-45 deg or above. On the plus side, I do like the style of the coat and it does repel water very well. However on the negative side I found the pockets are not angled deep so if you put your car keys in the pockets, they can fall back out. I also noticed that the sleeves of the removable liner are of thin nylon and not the same as the torso part of the liner which is heavier and blocks the wind. When I was pumping gas on a windy day, my arms were freezing but my torso was warm. There is also a problem with the length of the sleeves. I am 5' 2" so I ordered a Petite large. I had to roll the sleeves up because they were down to the end of my fingers. I am really disappointed with this coat. I have bought numerous coats from LL Bean over the years and this is the first coat which I can say is not worth the high price tag for the lack of quality and incorrect sizing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ElaineGSD Wetter inside than out!
I returned this jacket. It doesn't breathe. That means in light rain, even with the liner removed, you get wetter inside the jacket due to condensation and sweat than you would be if you weren't wearing the jacket.
Might be good in areas where downpours are common, but here in California it just doesn't make sense.
The jacket is tailored beautifully, nicely made, plus has a very flattering cut and the purple color is lovely. I'm sad that it didn't work for me.

I bought about 10 jackets and sent them all back except this style in a 1X. Several of the ones I tried were different sizes or versions of this one. I am a plus size woman with short arms. Most LLBean jackets have arms so long they hang down past the tips of my fingers! Not so with this plus size jacket. I did have to spend quite a bit of money at the Gore-tex repair place in Seattle where they added an extra half snap onto the cuffs so I could really tighten up the sleeves on my wrists. I hate them getting in the way when I wash my hands.
I love the magenta color and have gotten several compliments on how cute the color and style are. It looks fancier and more feminine than most of my other jackets so I'm sure to wear it with a dress. It has nice looking pockets that don't have zippers like so many sportier jackets do. There is a zippered pocket on the interior that has plenty of room for a wallet or sunglasses.
This jacket is light weight and comfortable. I bought it roomy enough to fit over my fleece cardigan when the weather is chilly. I doubt if I'll use the liner much since I only bought the lined version because it seemed to have a bit more room across the back so it doesn't constrict my arms or shoulders.
The thing I love most about this jacket is the snap storm flap. I rarely zip my jacket because I like the collar open and the ease of sitting down when getting in the car. Often when I'm out for a walk I'll just close one or two snaps instead. Hook and loop closures aren't good for this and tend to get stuck to my gloves.
This rain jacket is a good choice for the Pacific Northwest.

The price was a bit more than I expected to pay, but ultimately I love this cute rain jacket.
The primaloft lining seemed incredibly lightweight, but it kept me cozy during some recent crisp wet weather. The fit allows room to layer over a sweater without being shapeless. I love the feminine styling touches, such as the belted back.
For reference, I'm 5'8, 135 pounds, with long arms. The medium fit me comfortably, plus the sleeves were long enough!
I'm happy with the clover/kelly green. It's similar to the color of spring grass. I live in jeans, so it will complement the denim blue.

Rated 2 out of 5 by damariscottafan Where is my favorite jacket?
L.L.Bean is my go to store for outwear, so I hate to write a negative review but this jacket is just is not what it used to be. This is the third time I have purchased it over the years. I wear it almost daily in the fall and spring. It was the perfect weight for all but the coldest months and waterproof for cold, rainy New England weather.
The new version no longer has warm lining in the sleeves, neck or hood so it is really just a rain jacket for use in mild weather. The lining in the arms is attached by a button to the cuff area and the first time I tried the jacket on the lining completely separated from the coat sleeve. I don't want to reposition the lining back into the sleeve each time I take the coat on and off. On the positive side, the is very nice material and the jacket is stylish. If I just needed a light weight rain jacket I would probably keep it, but I need something warmer.
Please bring back a mid weight, rainproof jacket.

This jacket fits well and repels water better than a duck can. Classic LL Bean apparel always a good choice.

I travel often and had been using my old coat for about 25 years. It served me well but was beginning to show its age. While in Maine this summer I stopped by LLBean looking for a replacement coat. This one caught my eye and I ordered it after I got home. I especially like the two way zipper as well as the zip out lining both useful when traveling. Am very happy with my purchase and am looking forward to many years of travel with it.

I bought this coat for dog-walking in the cold and rain, and it's perfect. Warm and light, and the rain just beads on it and rolls off. The hood fits well too. And I love the blue color.

Excellent jacket! Very light weight and soft material. I am 5'2" and ordered the petit size and it fits perfectly! The lining is easy to remove. If it is on the jacket is very warm!

This is my second Prima Loft-Lined Rain Jacket. Same great quality as my first one. I chose the Navy color this time and love it. It keeps you dry, and it keeps you warm. I weigh 125 lbs. and wear a size large. I like coats to fit a bit looser to accommodate layers for Texas weather, and I don't like a tightly binding coat/jacket. Somehow this jacket fits perfectly with or without layers!
