Rated 5 out of 5áby WHNelson Great Rocker
We love this rocking chair. I also found that the holes in the rocker did not align, but customer service suggested I only start the screws in each hole slightly forcing the second one to start it. Then alternately tighten each screw a little bit at a time. It will force the chair into the rocker holes. It really wasn't that hard. I assembled the whole chair by myself using the unfolded box as a pad on which to work. Following the directions was easy and once the seat and back were in, I tightened all the screws and then sat back and enjoyed the cool night air. My recommendation if you run into problems is call customer service, They were great.

áby maryfromMonroe Cane seat disintegrated.
I purchased this rocker about 6 years ago. It says it is all weather, but we faithfully brought it in every year for winter. It's an attractive comfy rocker.
This summer, when I sat in it, the cane seat split and cracked.
I don't feel it lives up to other llbean quality, especially for the price.
Of course they will replace it and let you ship it back for free, but that's after you take it all apart, buy a box to hold it all, package it up, and cart it off to the ups store. Sadly, that's not as easy as it sounds.

These have to be put together. The first one will take the better part of an hour, to read good instructions and to lay out the parts, assemble and screw together. No glue. The second one will take about a half hour to put together. Upon completion they will be sturdy and strong.

Our chair, purchased from Bean's about 2-1/2 years ago has come apart at the armrest. My husband can probably somehow put it back together, but I think this should not have happened with a rocking chair that has lived on a covered porch all its short life, cost a lot, or really at all. Shipping it back and waiting for a new one right in the middle of our busy summer is a ridiculous thing to ask us to do. I am very disappointed to see this kind of quality coming from Bean's. Perhaps using a little better hardware might have made these chairs less flimsy. Also, my husband, when we first got them, said they were horrible to put together and he is very handy! For example, holes were not drilled all the way through and the hardware is soft and easily ripped. If you are willing to put up with all this, the chairs are comfortable and nice to look at.

These rockers are fantastic! I purchased 4, and was able to assemble in less than 30 minutes each. We assembled one whole side, then attached to the other. They look great on the porch. I've never seen the all-weather woven seats before. They look like the real thing! Love these chairs!

I received my rocker this week and put it together yesterday. It was so well explained and I had no problems putting it together. I am anxious to put it out on the patio! Highly recommend this rocker to anyone.

Rated 4 out of 5áby DHwhitepaws An Amazing Rocker.
Close to perfect. First, it's VERY comfortable with/without a kidney pillow - I have lower back problems, so this type of pillow works for me. My rocker is sitting on the front porch and it looks very inviting and cozy - perhaps with a cuppa tea and a blanket on cool/cold days. It looks good and feels great with some class.
Second, I gave it 4 stars because the instructions can certainly be refine to add more details with tips and tricks for assembling the rocker. It is NOT easy to put together and it certainly requires 2 people with lots of patients as it is a bit tricky to put together. A soft smooth surface IS A MUST. Follow the instructions is so so important for assembling the parts well. I had 1 problem with one of the screws not going in as well, so I find it easy to screw it in some and then loosen and back again. Some of parts [such as the rockers - bottom parts] look as though they will not fit as well, BUT it all comes together when each screws is tighten. My last tip, DO NOT use a drill to tighten the screws, your hands and some patients works well.

The material looked good, the chair was well packed, and the explanations were clear. But the first step in assembly could not be completed: the holes in one of the runners did not align with the side of the chair. LLBean did take it back (at a local store) and gave me a refund for the chair (but not for the extra $15 shipping charge). It is probably a good chair if all the parts match...

See that chair on the right? Last night I was gently rocking there, sipping a chilled Sauvignon Blanc while taking in the moon, stars, probably a few planets, and fireflies flitting around the deck. I cannot remember feeling so content.
I think the chairs look beautiful, especially paired with the Sunbrella cushions and small side table. Assembly took two patient people, the second one went together a little smoother than the first. We are very happy. Thank you.

We just put together our two Presidential Rockers. They went together easily and it was nice that they came with the necessary tool. I looked at many, many websites trying to avoid spending this much money for 2 rocking chairs. However, the LL Bean rockers were the only ones that didn't come with a long list of complaints about how they would not go together and new holes had to be drilled or even that the product needed to be returned. I always read reviews, which is why I am bothering to write this one. Anyway, in the end I opted for the product reliability of LL Bean. I'm so glad I did because the chairs are roomy and surprisingly comfortable. They certainly seem like they will last for a long, long time. If they don't, I'll be writing another review! It's good feeling that I got what I paid for.
