If you are not 100% satisfied with one of our products, you may return it within one year of your purchase for a refund (special conditions may apply). After one year, we will consider any items for return that are defective due to materials or craftsmanship. Products purchased before February 9, 2018, are not subject to this one-year time limit. To protect all our customers and make sure that we handle every return or exchange with reasonable fairness, we cannot accept a return or exchange (even within one year of purchase) in certain situations, including:
Products damaged by misuse, abuse, improper care or negligence, or accidents (including pet damage)
Products showing excessive wear and tear. Products differ, but generally, wear and tear is considered excessive if the product is nearing the end of its practical use, or just looks heavily worn
Products lost or damaged due to fire, flood, or natural disaster
Products with a missing label or label that has been defaced
Products returned for personal reasons unrelated to product performance or satisfaction
Products that have been soiled or contaminated, until they have been properly cleaned
Returns on ammunition, either in our stores or through the mail
On rare occasions, past habitual abuse of our Return Policy
Products purchased from third party sellers (Items purchased at one of our retail partners must be returned to them and are subject to their return policies)
Returns & Exchanges through US mail are $6.50 per package or FREE if you used an L.L.Bean Mastercard or paid entirely using Bean Bucks. You can also return your item(s) to one of our retail stores for no extra cost.
Option 1: For the fastest service, simply place a new order and return your item(s).
Option 2: Call us at 1-800-441-5713 and we’d be happy to ship your items right away. We’ll waive the standard shipping fee for your new order, but you’ll still be charged $6.50 if returning with the prepaid return label.
Option 3: Exchange your item at any of our stores.

Why are some orders and items not returnable online?
Due to the nature of some of our goods, special handling is required, which is not possible through our Easy Online Returns.
Oversized Freight Please call 1-800-341-4341 . If you discover a problem after you've accepted delivery of an item shipped by freight, contact us. We may be able to resolve the problem without requiring you to return the item. Please retain all packaging material until you're completely satisfied with the condition of your purchase. Doing so will make it easier to return the item if necessary. We’ll work with a freight company to complete the return.
Hazardous Materials We’re not able to return hazardous materials in the mail including batteries, fuel, glues, firearms, etc. Please return these items to one of our stores or contact customer service to best support you 1-800-453-0659.

How can I return a gift?
You can return your gift in any of the following ways:
Take your gift to any store with proof of purchase or the order information.
Use the return and exchange form and shipping label included in your package to return your gift for a Return Gift Card or an exchange.
Don’t have your order number? Contact us at 1-800-453-0659, and we can try to locate it for you. Then use this return and exchange form, print a shipping label, and mail your item(s) back. As soon as we process your return, we’ll send a Return Gift Card or your new item(s) for exchange.
How do I make changes to my online return?
Cancelling a return If you change your mind, you don’t have to do anything at all. Simply enjoy your purchase!
Adding item(s) to return Initiate a new return and use one of the labels to include all the items you wish to return. Be sure to include both packing slips in the return package.
Removing item(s) from return Easy! Just cross out the item(s) that you’d like to keep on the packing slip. Use the return label and return only what you’d like to return.
Can I return an item purchased using a Gift Card or Bean Bucks?
Absolutely! Purchases made with a gift card will be refunded in the form of another gift card and any Bean Bucks used towards your purchase will be returned to your Bean Bucks balance.
Can I send a package without using a L.L.Bean shipping label?
Yes. If you choose not to use our L.L.Bean shipping label, you will be responsible for paying all return shipping costs up front. Please fill out the Return & Exchanges Form and ship your return and form to:
