THE L.L.BEAN A.T. RELAY
Walking the Walk
on the Appalachian Trail
We Did It!
On September 26, 2018, two L.L.Bean employees – our 43rd team of hikers – reached the summit of Mt. Katahdin in Maine, marking the last leg of our monumental five-month relay along the legendary Appalachian Trail. An achievement they now share with 84 of their colleagues from all across the country. One that inspires us all to get outside together no matter where we are or how long we have to spend there.
Discoveries from the Trail
“I learned how much I was capable of and will carry that to the rest of my outdoor experiences”
-Ashley LaPoint, Team 28
“It's a powerful feeling to find yourself among hikers with a shared love of the outdoors. There is an immediate camaraderie that’s hard to find elsewhere.”
- Steven Wells, Team 7
“As I was standing up there, it felt like a scene in a movie. It was my ‘I just hiked 30 miles, and I’m on top of the world’ moment—and I’ll never forget it!”
-Katie Raymon, Team 14
Preserving the Trail
For decades, hundreds of L.L.Bean employees have volunteered their time to make sure a section of the A.T. in Northern Maine stays pristine for all those who hike it. We're proud to have partnered with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy to protect this special trail, while supporting dozens of cleanup efforts just like ours along its entire length.
