How do I measure my dog for a jacket or vest?

Measure your dog for length and girth, then compare those numbers to the specs on the product page. Length is measured from the base of the neck to the base of the tail, and girth is measured around the widest part of the rib cage. For reference, some styles list a Small around 12"-13 3/4" in length with about a 15"-21" girth range.

What do "length" and "girth" mean on dog jacket size charts?

Length is the measurement from the base of your dogs neck to the base of the tail. Girth is the measurement around the widest part of the rib cage. Using both helps you pick a size that matches your dogs body shape, not just their weight.

How should a dog jacket or vest fit?

It should fit securely without restricting your dogs movement. Check that the jacket stays in place through the chest and belly area and that the length does not interfere at the tail. If the style uses straps, you should be able to slide a couple of fingers under them.

What kinds of closures do dog jackets and vests use?

Some dog jackets use hook-and-loop closures at the chest and belly to help dial in the fit. Always confirm the closure type on the product page and photos, since designs can vary by style.

How do I wash and care for a dog jacket or vest?

Follow the Fabric & Care instructions listed on the product page for the specific style you choose. Some jackets list machine wash and dry instructions, while others may have different care notes. Close any fasteners before washing to help prevent snagging.
