I got my boots after being backodered for a month or so. Well worth the wait. Very well made and I like how they come with a card on who made them. I love ll bean products. True American quality.
Cannot wait to try them out in the winter hiking through the mountains.

I ordered these boots knowing they would be back ordered. I was told they would ship in June. They arrived around the end of March. I normally wear a 10 1/2- 11 in boots, for these I ordered 10 and they fit perfect. After wearing once all day( retightened laces once) they are perfect. I worked shaving cream into them the night they arrived to soften them up. Old baseball glove trick. Perfect boots! Ordered a pair for my wife.

This is my second pair of bean boots but my first pair of the Maine hunting shoe. For me these boots are perfect for outdoor leisure. They do run big in size so be careful if you decide to order. All in all I couldn't ask for a better pair of boots, I'll be asking for a 3rd pair for my birthday, you just can't beat the high quality and care put into every handmade pair of these boots. 10/10

by DJJC Great Spring to Autumn Woodlands Boot
I purchased these boots (Maine Hunting Boots) in October of 2013 and had great use with them during the autumn of that year. The boots are light weight and comfortable, plus, especially when new, they are a great looking item.
Unfortunately, while out in the hinterland of northern New Brunswick, Canada, later that year, a sharp twig that had been cut by an axe, punctured the rubber portion of one of the boots. I later successfully patched the boot but decided upon my next visit to LL Bean in Freeport, Me, that I would take the boots with me to see if I can get new lowers on them.
Upon talking to the LL Bean customer service folks about the possibility of having new lowers sewn on my boots, the gentleman replied, "How would you like a brand new pair of replacement boots, free of charge"? I was shocked and of course delighted by his comment and I did not hesitate to take him up on LL Bean's generous offer.
I now am on my second pair of LL Bean Maine Hunting Boots and I still love them, I continuously keep them in great shape by lubricating the leather uppers periodically.
In the accompanying photo (Camp Big Moose, Canada) my L L Bean boots are on the left, the other pair belongs to my brother, his boots are not the same good looking pair as mine..
LL Bean offers not only Great Hunting Boots but Great Customer Service, what more can a person ask for!

Fits perfect. I was unsure following the sizing recommendation from llbean, they were pretty far away from how I usually purchase boots.
Boy am I glad I followed their directions!!!
Couldn't be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MJK914 Still the best upland boot
I have owned many pairs of shorter LLBean rubber/leather boots over the last 30+ years, which I used for walking my dog. About ten years ago I finally wised up and bought a pair of 14" Maine Hunting Shoes for my upland adventures and found that they are just the ticket for upland hunting. (Please note that this height is no longer made.) The reason that the Maine Hunting Shoe is so good is that in addition to its height, which you need in the wet uplands of the northeast, you can tie the boot snugly around your calf, and even if you go in water over the boot, your foot stays dry, so you can continue hunting. I also have and like Muck Boots, but they are not the same - if you go into water over your boot top, you are going back to the car, and their support is not as good as the LLBean boot. Another point: the quality of the Maine Hunting Shoe is superb. The leather is thick and soft, and the sizing is good - the 12 wide boots I wear are large enough to wear a liner sock and a medium weight sock over it. With other boots I must buy a 13 wide size to be able to wear this arrangement. My only complaint is that the company no longer makes the 14" height. If you hunt the uplands, you need this boot.

I love the fact that you can switch the eyes to hooks. The only downfall so far is that they squeak when you move. I hope that this will stop after they are broken in a bit. They are very comfortable.

This is my third pair of Bean boots, but my first "Maine Hunting Boot". These boots are much more comfortable than my previous pairs - no break-in period required.

Rated 5 out of 5 by rnmmontana Still the best light weight boot there is!
Boots arrived as ordered and promised. Sizing advice is right on. I wear an 11 regular street shoe an a 10 regular gives me room for a medium insole and a heavy pair of socks. My father, a logger, has been wearing these boots in the Montana fall, winter and spring since the 1930's and I have been wearing since the 1950's. There is no better light weight boot for active winter wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MarkinMetairie Nice boots, but hard to fit
These are quality boots, but they are difficult to fit if you have a narrow foot and wear a half size. I usually wear an 11 1/2 n and sized down to a 10n as recommended. This shoe was too short and tight with a medium weight sock. Sized up to the 11n and they were too wide and too long. It appears, for me at least, that a 10M is the best compromise; they could be a little narrower and slightly longer, but they will do.
Bean's customer service is excellent; it took three attempts to get an acceptable fit and they worked with me all the way.
