This was my standard slipper for many years. My old pair was probably 6-7 years old or more and the shearling was worn and I had a hole in the sole. I ordered a new pair and couldn't wait for all that lamby goodness to comfort and warm my feet. They are not as well lined as they used to be after a month of sporadic use, the shearling is already compressed. I prefer to spend more on a quality product that lasts, but I'm very disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by rvtraveler2 review of leather-lined, not shearling
For some reason when I attempt to review the leather-lined double-sole slippers it just brings up the shearling-lined product. Some glitch in their software and maybe this review will actually end up where it belongs. Anyway, I'm on my third pair of the leather-lined product. No problems with the stitching ripping out or the insole becoming detached as a couple other folks have experienced. They are very comfortable and fit well even though I have a narrow foot (B width) and the slippers are a medium width. My only complaint is that the outer sole wears through faster than I would like. I wear mine indoors most of the time, with a few trips out onto the patio or into the garage. The soles last about a year before they start to wear through. After two years they have substantial holes in the bottom soles. I'm going to try to find some leather scraps and glue them onto the bottoms to extend their useful life.

I have had these slippers for two years. I wear them every morning and evening. I wear them inside the house and outside in the yard. They have been worn in wet grass and on concrete. They show hardly any wear.

I'm into my fourth year for these slippers. (Indoor, cold weather use). They continue to get more comfortable every time I wear them. No excessive amounts of wear showing yet. I'm hoping to get another four years out of them before I have to think about a new pair.

Got these as an x-mass gift. They fit tight when new (they were the "correct" size). You may want to up-size, however, after a couple months of daily wear they stretched enough to be comfortable. After the first 3-4 months of wearing them in the evening around the house the stitching on both of them began to break and unravel. I plan to have them replaced or repaired by Bean, but I am very unimpressed with how quickly they started to fall apart.

I have been buying all-leather moccasins for over twenty years from another retailer.
These arrived yesterday and are, by far, the best fitting, most comfortable out-of-the-box moccasins I have ever purchased.
They are, initially, a little stiff in the side-shell but that only adds to the foot forming, over time.
Couldn't be happier and would highly recommend them to anyone to appreciates a good quality all-leather moccasin.

Rated 1 out of 5 poor quality example
this was my third pair of leather slippers from LLBean. within 3 months of wearing the inner sole became detached from the next layer of leather. I attempted repair by using a good adhesive (Gorilla glue) applied between layers of leather allowing the repair to dry for multiple days. upon wearing them again the leather once again became detached from the next layer.
as I said, these were my third pair, I am returning them along with a new pair of the Bison leather slippers I just received on 9/21/2015 from LLBean for a similar issue with the inner sole, although the innersole on the Bison pair appears to be the problem.
would I buy either type in the future, of course I will.
I suspect I have had the misfortune of receiving poor quality examples.
(I cannot obtain a good photo of the original pair of leather slippers, but have attached a photo of the issue with the Bison slippers).

Love the shoes, best bargain for the quality out there. Had a pair previously that lasted 7-8 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ChagrinFallsScott Comparison: Leather Slippers and Bison Slippers
I bought the leather slippers and the bison slippers so I could compare them before picking one. They are identical except the Bison slippers have texture on their tops and sides. The leather slippers are smooth all over and might be a little stiffer. I picked the Bisons because I think they are more attractive.
Both are very very nice slippers and share the following characteristics:
- Both fit my narrow size 13 foot just fine.
- Both have a nice leather lining.
- The white stitching on both is very precise.
- They have an leather insole that is glued in place but that at first glance looked like one of those removable insoles like you'd find in running shoes. This insole has a dark colored man-made part that extends to the sides of the lighter colored leather part.
- They both seem to have some padding in their sole.
People seem to complain about the slipperiness of the sole. If you've ever bought a loafer or dress shoe with a leather sole, then you are familiar with slippery soles. If it bugs you, just give 'em a little scuffing on the sidewalk. It doesn't bug me enough to feel the need to scuff them and I have been walking around on hardwood and carpeted floors in the fleece-lined bisons since Christmas.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ReviewerSlipper Far too expensive, OK quality slipper
I have worn two LL Bean slippers for the last 20 years. One being this Men's Leather Double-Sole Slipper. I won't buy it anymore as its price far exceeds its quality and too short wear life. Too bad LL Bean doesn't offer a similar slipper at a far more reasonable price. It's an ok slipper to purchase if you want and can spend over $90.00 (inc. tax here in CT).
