Rated 5 out of 5 by consumer336 Best raincoat ever & absolutely waterproof
This a wonderful coat. I've worn it in three rainstorms so far and it is absolutely waterproof. It has a sleek, stylish cut. The XS Regular fits me perfectly--plenty of room inside but not baggy.
I am 5'4" and the coat comes to slightly above my knee.
The navy color is kind of sapphire blue and a nice, bright change from my customary black/gray/deep navy palette.

Rated 5 out of 5 by consumer336 Bring on the rain--good fit, good coat!
I'm very pleased with this raincoat. I purchased size Extra Small Regular, my usual size and it fits perfectly. Not baggy, not too tight.
I am about 5'4"/ 110 lbs, slender build. The length is pretty good. It comes to about an inch above my knees.
Some customers have said the coat is too tight in the armholes/shoulders areal....I think it might be if one has fleshier arms than I do. But I tried it on over a blazer that has some light padding in the shoulders and it was not difficult to get the coat on or move around.
I am glad I did not size up.
The bright navy color is sort of marriage of flag blue and indigo.
Not navy, brighter, but still kind of neutral.
I expect it to be a blessing in a rain storm. If not, I'll tell you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ResQMee The very coat I've been searching for!
I bought a Large for my size 12, 5'7" self in the Deep Navy. Great fit, classic color and best of all, the hood on this LL Bean raincoat fits, too. No sag, no blowing off. Coat has snaps, not Velcro. Zips from top AND bottom. Roomy enough for my CA weight sweaters. I love this coat...which was recommended by a friend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by vgrosenw Great raincoat; fair hood
need to write an adjunct to my february 2015 review. wore the mesh-lined raincoat yesterday in a late spring storm & i remained mainly dry. the one issue was with the hood. although it can be cinched in to fit the wearer's head, there doesn't appear to be any way to secure the hood. whereas the coat's overall design & fabric get a 5, the hood blowing off in stormy weather decreases the score to a 4. (will try improvising the next time i wear this coat in stormy weather with a piece of yarn or binder clip.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by PoodleMom407 Goodbye Kick Pleat!
This a great coat. However, I need to replace mine which is now several years old. The fabric is wonderful and it has all the elements of a terrific coat that can take you from walks in the rain to an evening out. My one complaint is the kick pleat which I find really dates the coat. It makes it look 'old fashioned'. It adds a cumbersome and unnecessary amount of fabric to the back of the coat. How many coats do you see now that have kick pleats? I hope LL Bean will update the design of this great coat and I'll hold off ordering my new one until I see what happens!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Neecy Nice Coat--runs very small
This coat is well made and has great pockets. It runs very small in the shoulders and chest/rib cage. I have a small to medium frame, wear a size 10-12 and ordered a medium but it was too small--definitely could not wear a midweight layer underneath it as noted in the description. My old H2off rain coat (a size medium) is several years old, has been worn many times and is beginning to fray at the sleeve hems. This one has been radically redesigned and the smaller cut should be noted in the description. I returned it the day after it arrived. I would recommend this rain coat to someone because of the quality as long as they knew it was cut so small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Adriennenz Great value for money
This rain coat is just what I am after for frequent city walking in Wellington New Zealand. We gets lots of weather, cold, rain and wind. There is no bad weather only bad clothing, and this rain coat is just the ticket for dealing with the weather. It fits perfectly. I am a size 22 and the 1x fits like a glove. It is a beautiful blue, and is very well finished with great closures and pockets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lynnnie Size Problem
I love this coat, but I have one issue. I purchased the same coat with a zip-in liner in a 1X. Because of the design, it was tight across the chest. I recently ordered the mesh-lined one in a 2X. Although the chest is a little bit roomier, there is almost no difference in the sizes. This is a flaw that needs to be addressed. I have an older model in the 2X that I swim in which is why I ordered the smaller size. Please revert back to the former design - we need the comfort and room!

Rated 5 out of 5 by llbeaner151 Best Rain Coat
I've had this coat for 5+ years and it's still going strong. It's perfect for spring and fall and breathable enough for really rainy summer days (if it's not too hot out). Looks great (I get lots of compliments on it) and really functional. I almost wish it would wear out so I could order another really cute LL Bean jacket. I have the black and it shows no signs of wear after 5 years.
Wish they would make a men's version.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ERICKA1257 Pricey But I've Got Good Things to Say
LLB's easy returns let me exchange last year's version of this coat after a year! Because I didn't benefit from any discounts on the exchange the coat cost me fifty dollars more than I originally paid though (originally paid $136.00 but this time it was $189.00-ouch!#. This year's improvements are immediately noticeable. The hood is much better. I have large braids that never fit under anything but the improved hood does a really good job of covering most of them. Overall the coat is very well made & has great deep pockets. I found that the khaki color I had last year picked up marks easily every time I wore it. This year's Deep Navy isn't really traditional navy but it's a beautiful color. Compared to other LLB coats I've purchased in the past this one runs on the small side. I usually order a 2x but in this item a 3x was necessary. If I had my way I would have it be even a 1/2 size bigger than the 3x in order to wear bulky stuff underneath. #We're still having sketchy weather here in the mid-Atlantic). All in all though it's a very nice raincoat that I'm looking forward to enjoying all Spring and Summer
