Beautiful equestrienne lines; this jacket is even slimming! I like a garment to look as good from the back as it does from the front, and this quilted jacket is nicely tailored, with its back vent and side cinches.
I ordered a Petite XL to have room for thicker sweaters underneath. As other reviews have said, it's surprisingly warm! Wear a cashmere turtleneck under it and you would be comfortable in winter.
I give this jacket four stars instead of five because there's no inside pocket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ALHBrewer A fair replacement for my favorite coat
I had an LL Bean quilted jacket that I loved. Unfortunately, it is no longer available. This jacket was to be it's replacement. It's very nice, warmer than it looks but not the same as my original jacket. The original had an easier fit so I could wear it over a sweater and an interior zippered pocket. Plus it was warmer. The zipper on this jacket is rather difficult to start and undo. With an interior pocket, a looser underarm fit and a better zipper it would be perfect.

This is one of the most beautiful and comfortable jackets I have ever owned. The color green is exquisite, and I feel wonderful when wearing it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by stowellbeaner Great style and color
I purchased the size small petite jacket in cayenne and have received many compliments on the color of the jacket as well as the fit. I really like the jacket, but do not like jackets that don't have any zipper pockets to hold valuables securely. This is my one complaint- even just a small zippered pocket on the inside would be a great addition.

I bought this coat for a trip to the mountains ( as I actually did not own a coat before this trip ). It was perfect! As other reviewers have mentioned, the sleeves are a little long, but when riding horses or driving in an open air vehicle, they are perfect, and keep your wrists warm. I flipped up the cuffs the rest of the time, and it looked super cute. I loved the slim lines of this coat. It was thinner than I expected, but warmer than I expected, too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jacket1 Exactly What I Was Looking For
I bought this jacket for the look and to keep warm. I wore the jacket while walking around in the snow in PA and it kept me completely warm. I also wear the jacket in AL in the spring weather conditions and it isn't too heavy. The jacket is true to the size chart. I am 5'1" and 120 pounds and the petite small fits perfectly with room for a sweater/sweatshirt underneath. I am extremely happy with my purchase and would 100% recommend the jacket to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by sweatersavvy Very good lightweight jacket
I agree with the previous reviewer who said this runs big, but that is fine with me as it is great for layering. I do have to turn up the cuffs. I am 5'7", 165 lbs. and take a Large. The jacket I own is in a beautiful soft green, and I also have one in light coral that I bought on sale nearly a year ago. This jacket has a nice shape to it which makes me feel slimmer! I'll probably order another one next year!

Rated 4 out of 5 by MaineGrlinCA Runs big, but very nice
I like this coat. I really like the tartan and corduroy lining. The only thing I would tell others is that it really runs big compared to other designers. I am 5'5", 116 lbs and I originally ordered an XS. The sleeves were too long, even when rolled up and there was a bit too much space in the armpit area. I was a bit shocked. So I ordered a Petite XS (I almost never were 'petite' in anything) and that fit better, though I'd still say it's a loose fit kind of coat. Otherwise, the craftsmanship is great as usual, and the coat is perfect for fall or spring. I do think L L Bean should list this as 'runs big'.

I am extremely disappointed in this jacket. You need to have no shoulders and tooth picks for arms to wear this comfortably.
