and I received Mustard colored. Please get your colors straight, I love LL Bean but someone in your Manufacturing or Marketing department can't tell the difference.. Yellow like the fisherman rain gear!

I'm overall very satisfied with this jacket.
It does a great job keeping the rain and wind out while allowing the jacket to breathe, so you don't burn up. I like that it folds up into its own pocket, and the wrinkles fall out pretty quickly after you put it on.
The hood could be so much better in so many ways. When the the jacket is stowed it's almost impossible to zip without getting fabric caught in the zipper.
Nothing's perfect and this jackets shortcomings are vastly outweighed by its quality and effectiveness. If I lost it I would buy another one to replace it immediately.

I ordered my vibrant green rain jacket in a mens medium. I am 6' 180 lbs and it fits well out of the box.
I took it out for a walk in the woods yesterday in heavy, constant rain for about 3 hours. The jacket has held up exceedingly well and hasn't let a drop of water in. I keep my cell in the zippered chest pocket with no problems.
The hood is easy to adjust and doesn't block peripheral vision. The stuff pocket is a nice feature, but I usually just ball up my rain jackets anyway for easy access.
Overall, great rain jacket. Blocks the wind and rain, fits well, color is awesome, and the fabric is wicked durable.

Rated 2 out of 5áby DCExpat H2O proofing delaminates after very little wear...
I "upgraded" to this jacket from a another I had purchased in an outlet -- I believe the actual model was only available at outlets -- which was definitely a lesser jacket. I "upgraded" because the lesser jacket's waterproof lining in the hood began delaminating after a month or so of easy wear. Well, much to my disappointment the same thing has happened to this jacket. I'm actually surprised the problem persists given that I bought the upgrade last year at this time and wore it 10-15 times, while I purchased the lesser jacket 3 years ago; it's worth noting that I did nothing except wear the jackets in the rain, no abuse, no washing, no ironing, etc.
I actually like the jacket's other features a lot: the pockets are great and the zippers first rate (although the mesh inside the side pockets aren't friendly to keys); the length is perfect; the outside material is just heavy enough to wear as an effective outer layer, with a decently warm sweater underneath, in chilly, wet weather; the color scheme is pretty cool (mine is royal blue/darker blue)...
I'm returning it.

Got this as a present from my daughter. I live in Arizona so don't wear it unless we visit her in Seattle. The rubber backing on the hood is disintegrating-probably worn about (6) times. Quality is not up to LL Bean standards

I bought this jacket to protect me from the spring rain season. I'm a sports journalist and have to cover events in types of weather, I've been very please in the two months I've covered several projects in driving rain, this jacket has done the trick.
My last rain jacket was a higher end expensive GoreTex jacket that I had for years and mostly babied it, however the Bean jacket with the Waterproof TEK2.5 fabric, seems more durable, pliable and most importantly has Breathability!
A real plus for me is the fact that it packets into its own pocket. I can carry this jacket in a pocket of my camera bag!
Next I'll try the TEK2.5 pants.

My son and I purchased a pair of these jackets for a trip to Atlanta, where we were promised rain, and we got it! We had a ;multi-block stroll in medium to heavy rain from the Georgia Aquarium to the train station. Our packs got wet, our jeans got soaked, but where the Trail jackets covered, we stayed perfectly dry. I particularly appreciated the velcro storm flap in the front, the strap that adjusts how far forward the hood falls, and pockets that zip to retain gloves or a scarf.
These jackets are well made, light, wind and water proof and can be easily folded up for stowage in a rucksack. With a fleece or sweater for warmth, they are excellent for everyday wear. I use mine nearly every day and have experienced none of the problems reported by other reviewers.
Worth every penny, and I would not hesitate to recommend to a friend. My Trail Model Rain Jacket is now on my list of "essential" gear.

Rated 3 out of 5áby Nudelheim PLEASE! Change lining material!
This is a good jacket. But the flimsy mesh lining MUST go. My current jacket (the third of these I've owned) is barely a year old; the left-hand pocket is already useless because its bottom fouls in the (often sluggish) zipper. I've pointed out both mesh & zipper failings in the past -- but not online. I hope someone's looking/listening now. (Both mesh & zipper come in for some heat in other reviews on this page.)
I'm not an expert; but this would seem a relatively easy fix to eliminate an important flaw in what otherwise is a terrific item.

After my comment about a delamination problem, LL Bean promptly replaced the defective jacket.

After using the jacket for 10 months I noticed small spots where the inner waterproof part of the fabric was de laminating from the outer fabric. Now at the end of 11 months the delamination has increased and is significant. I wore the jacket only about half an hour a day about four times a week for about seven months of the year while walking the dog. The jacket was great until it started delaminating.
