New Balance seems to have changed their way of making wide shoes. They used to look a bit more streamlined. Still, these are a great fitting, comfortable shoe.

This isn't the first time I've purchased this product. Every couple or so years, I buy a new pair. I am all about comfort and these shoes are exactly that. I also like that they are all-white as I'm not a fan of the neon trend. I wear them outside almost all the time and my feet never bother me.

I don't really like to say I wouldn't recommend these to a friend... They did not fit me well. The arch hit my foot in the wrong place...way up towards the ball of my foot. They felt wrong as soon as I put them on. I also didn't care for the way they looked but would have kept them if they'd fit properly. Ended up going with a pair of 608 New Balance for men which felt much better. Caveat - I wear a women's 10 1/2 usually but tried this pair in an 11 and they were just not right.

I just ordered my 7th pair of these (New Balance 577). I have white and black and have worn them A LOT over a number of years!
Inside, outside, long walks, short walks, dry and rainy, anything except snow.
They fit well (I wear the dreaded W, so tricky to find!), wear well and are assembled in the United States.
One little thing - this model is made for men and women. Bean's used to stock the "hook and loop" and lace-up models for both genders but now only stock lace-up for women. I'd like to have the "hook and loop" back again! Easier on the arthritis.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TofusMom Excellent fit, Like walking on pillows
My feet are hard to fit. I have a high arch and high instep. These shoes felt great from the 1st time I walked in them. Like walking on pillows. I called 1st to explain my delemia about finding shoes to fit. I wasn't sure of his recommendation, but I went with it. He was right on! LLBean has Never disappointed me! Thanks so much!

Rated 4 out of 5 by PetXtraSmall Pretty good fit
After trying a 6.5W and finding it a bit narrow in the instep for my wide, flat foot, even though the size seemed a bit longer than it should be for a 6.5, I decided to take a gamble and try a 6W. Imagine my delighted surprise when the 6W fit almost like a glove. The length is perfect.(I have always worn a 6.5) and the width is right. I have a hard time getting fitted and have tried a LOT of lace-up walking shoes, so I was relieved to find these will work for me, that is, for the black. The white in the same size is still too narrow so back it goes, weird. Quality control at NB could use some tweaking, I think.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DeWinter Perfect for standing on your feet all day!
These look better than regular athletic shoes because of the leather upper. I should have heeded the advice I got on the phone from the LLBean representative. She told me to order 1/2 size larger because they ran short, but I didn't do this because I always buy New Balance and they always fit to size. I'll assume they are smarter than me the next time. I did do an exchange. I always get perfect customer service from them. My only regret is that there is no LLBean in WI. They're on my bucket list.

These shoes are okay as far as comfort goes. They are a little tight through the toe area so be sure to order at least 1/2 size larger than your normal size. Also they tend to make noise when you walk which I dont particularly care for.
