Rated 5 out of 5 by SCStatebulldog SOFT, COOL AND STUNNING!
I can't understand the negative reviews of Bean's percale sheets: they are incredibly soft and beautiful! These Indian block prints are just fabulous, and I have mixed and matched from the collection of blue and white patterns currently being offered. The results have given my bedroom a great makeover!!
I'm so pleased with these percale sheets, and I highly recommend them. They have a very deep pocket and they tuck in extremely well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by VA2MD Fitted sheet ripped
I went online to order another king-sized fitted sheet since the one I had ripped as I was taking it off my bed, and I noticed that other customers had the same problem. It seems there is an issue with the sheet quality which LL Bean is researching, so I wouldn't recommend this particular set of sheets until the problem is resolved.

Rated 1 out of 5 Both fitted and flat sheet ripped
I really liked these sheets until first the fitted and later the flat sheet ripped. The fitted sheet was so thin it simply wore out and then ripped right in the middle. The flat sheet ripped along the delicate lacey seam a few inches below the top of the sheet. Bean did replace the fitted sheet, but now I am going to probably return the whole set and look for something more durable elsewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Volkswoman Sheets to die for!
I did a LOT of reading before I purchased these sheets. Once I ordered, I waited impatiently for them to arrive. Once home, I went online to read how best to preserve the life of my sheets. I washed them in a front loading machine on gentle with half the amount of liquid detergent than a normal "dirty" load of laundry. I used Ivory Snow. I dried them on the delicate cycle. They came out with only a little wrinkling, basically pretty smooth. When I put them on the bed and slept on them for the first time last night I was ecstatic. Not only were they the closest thing to the sheets I remember as a kid, crisp and cool, the light scent of the Ivory snow was so nice that I highly recommend it for the scent and for the care it will give your finest washables. What you've read about these sheets is the truth. There is a reason they are so highly rated in the percale category. They are everything I was looking for. I plan on ordering an extra set of pillowcases so that I can change them mid week.

Rated 1 out of 5 by AMP123 Scratchy and Rough!
I did extensive online research before buying sheets, and ended up choosing these LL Bean sheets based on great personal reviews and product testing. But as other reviewers note, they must have recently changed the fabric because they are very stiff and rough, even after a wash on the hottest cycle. I agree that they don't even feel like cotton. I bought a set for my guest bed when my sister came into town and when I handed the sheets to her she frowned and said "what kind of sheets are these?" She ended up using a set of cheap twin sheets I had and sleeping on the couch; I don't blame her.

Rated 3 out of 5 by dfwelf Love the sheet, Hate the color.
OK, I like the material but I'm really really disappointed with the color. I ordered 'Silver Sand' I guess I was expecting more of a light gray. My husband swears they are brown, I'm sure they are a light sage green, either way we can both agree, these sheets are ugly and doesn't go with anything. I don't know what to do. I feel like I wasted my money. I seriously cannot stand this color. I think I will look into returning them but not sure if I can because they've been washed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by sheetreview Why did LL Bean change the fabric, and fit ?
I have purchased only LL Bean percale sheets for over 30 years, and I found the change that was made in the fabric not to my liking. Especially the fitted bottom. The sheet fit my mattress perfectly, with the deep pockets, but it would not stay in place. Actually there was enough sheet to tuck along the sides of the mattress as well, and that didn't even help. I like my bottom sheet to stay smooth and have a relatively tight fit, but when we woke up in the morning the sheet was wrinkled and pulled out from the sides and elastic pocket.
Returned the set, and will search for another company to purchase my sheets from.

Rated 1 out of 5 by flora9 Not convinced these sheets are cotton
I am a fabric snob, I buy only 100% cotton sheets, towels, pajamas, etc. These do not even feel like cotton, they feel like a cheap poly/cotton blend, heavy on the poly. They have a sheen and a slipperyness to them and, well, they just don't feel like cotton. I'm wondering if LLBean's suppliers pulled a fast one on them and these are cheap impostors. They should send them to a lab to have them checked for fiber content.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PurpleInnej First Impressions Aren't Always Accurate
I'm a certified sheet snob. I do not, under any circumstances, sleep on sheets that are remotely uncomfortable. In hotels, I deal, but I don't sleep well. I've been known to get out of a bed that has unknown sheets on it that turn out to be itchy and go sleep on the couch.
At first, I thought we had wasted a lot of money on sheets that I would refuse to use. That first night with these sheets (washed before being put on the bed) almost sent me running to the couch. BUT, give them a chance. They need used and washed a few times before their true comfort comes out. Now, I'm ordering a second set.
--After time, very smooth and comfortable
--Cool, not overheating
--Deep pockets for thicker mattresses
--Must be used and broken in before really comfortable
--Deep pockets make using on a smaller mattress require sheet garters
--Price. It's worth it, but hard to cough up $172 for a king set. Still, it's worth it

Rated 3 out of 5 by maddi1124 Disappointed
Before I bought these sheets, I noted the reviews that said the sheets are scratchy. I thought folks might be remarking on percale's crispness, which is what I love about them, but no, the sheets are indeed scratchy. My understanding is that such scratchiness is due to the quality of the cotton. They're not so scratchy that I returned them and I'm sure they'll last longer than other sheets I've bought in recent years, but I so miss the smooth, cool crispness of good quality percale sheets. I have 30-year-old cotton and cotton/poly percale sheets that are nicer than any replacements I've tried. I'd still be using them, but the bottoms don't fit the new 14" mattress. I also wanted to note that the Antique Pine color, which shows on my computer as a dusky, muted greyish green, are more of a medium-hued, bright green apple color.
