A Match Made in Maine: L.L.Bean and Maine Cabin Masters Connect on Natural Beauty, Durability and Tradition

L.L.Bean’s collaboration with the stars of Magnolia Network’s hit TV show Maine Cabin Masters brings together two quintessential Maine brands built on tradition and expert craftsmanship.

Cast members Chase Morrill, Ashley Morrill and Ryan Eldridge – who creatively renovate rustic cabins and camps across The Pine Tree State – spoke about their approach to restoration and their collaboration with L.L.Bean as well as the landscape, people and values that make Maine so special.

Outfitting the Stars of Maine Cabin Masters

Set against the backdrop of rugged coastlines and towering mountains, Maine Cabin Masters’ upcoming season offers unique renovations unlike anything the cast has done before. While Chase, his sister Ashley and brother-in-law Ryan take on some of their most ambitious cabin transformations yet, L.L.Bean has partnered with the visionary craftsmen to transform their wardrobe – or at least provide a fresh take on the cast’s style.

For Chase, the partnership arose naturally thanks to the connection between L.L.Bean’s commitment to durability and sustainability and Maine Cabin Masters’ novel take on renovation. “We both value preserving our natural resources and finding opportunities to experience the state’s beauty and outdoors,” he said.

Ashley finds the partnership particularly nostalgic and meaningful, having grown up with a strong connection to the brand. “Just thinking about all the quintessential L.L.Bean items I've had – from tote bags to backpacks, parkas and boots – they’ve all stood the test of time, and I’ve been wearing and using them forever.”

For Ryan, the collaboration prompted a personal revelation. “I realized that my sense of style and wardrobe hadn’t been updated for years,” he said lightheartedly. “[This partnership] showed me that you can look good, be comfortable and still swing a hammer."

Maine: A Singular Place with Something for Everyone

Like L.L.Bean – founded in Freeport, Maine in 1912 – Maine Cabin Masters and their cabin renovation business Kennebec Cabin Company were born out of a love for the beauty of the state. With a focus on resourcefulness and repurposing, the show’s restoration experts affectionately refer to The Pine Tree State as their co-star.

Calling Maine “the best place on earth,” Ashley enthusiastically pointed out that the state has it all -- mountains, sea, four seasons and friendly, down-to-earth people.

Chase added that “what Maine may lack in big cities, we make up for in small towns and smaller cities with unique identities.” He recommended a visit for anyone who likes “being outside, eating local food and exploring.”

“It’s one of the few places in the world that has something for everyone,” Ryan glowed. “You will find a little corner of our state that you love.”

“The Maine Way”

Beyond the shared appreciation for Maine's incredible natural landscape, L.L.Bean and Maine Cabin Masters’ stars align on the ethos and work ethic of the state’s people.

As the designer, Ashley finds immense satisfaction in reinventing or refurbishing pieces in collaboration with local artists and craftsmen.

“At Maine Cabin Masters, we value recycling, repurposing and using local materials anytime we can,” she said. “It's so fun to go into a cabin and discover some broken down item and then transform it into a table, a light or something that wasn't its original purpose.”

Similarly, L.L.Bean is committed to sustainable, responsible business practices as well as caring for its people, community and natural environment – values reflected in the company’s stakeholder philosophy and Maine Cabin Masters’ focus on quality and durability.

“We all live with the mindset that you make do with what you have on hand,” said Ryan. “If you have to purchase something, you make sure it was made well and made to last. This is the ‘Maine Way.’”

As Chase pointed out, “The concept of sustainability is both practical and philosophical. It saves time and money to repurpose as much as we can.”

A Natural Home

Whether it’s through the rugged Katahdin performance shirts that Ryan loves, or the classic fisherman sweater and red buffalo plaid flannel Ashley adores, L.L.Bean’s products have found a natural home on Maine Cabin Masters. Chase, a fan of the Katahdin Ironworks button-up shirts, hopes to see more of such timeless pieces brought back.

For Ashley, L.L.Bean symbolizes the outdoors, a love of Maine, family and enduring quality. Chase views L.L.Bean as a true Maine original and a tremendous success story, encapsulating the state’s spirit in every stitch and seam. As Ryan put it, “When I think Maine, lobsters and L.L.Bean instantly pop up. Doesn’t get more Maine than that.”

Ultimately, the collaboration is a celebration of Maine’s beauty, values and people. Together, the stars of Maine Cabin Masters and the people of L.L.Bean are preserving a way of life, honoring traditions and inspiring future generations to appreciate and care for Maine’s unique heritage and all that makes the state so special.
