Complete the L.L.Bean 15 Challenge to See the Power of Being Outside

L.L.Bean’s purpose is to inspire and enable people to experience the restorative power of being outside, which studies show can result in greater creativity, lower levels of stress, increased self-esteem and reduced anxiety, even in small doses.

To help our customers get outside and reap those benefits, we’re launching the L.L.Bean 15 Challenge in partnership with Strava, the athlete-designed fitness app which connects millions of outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds, to track their progress in activities they love.

From April 22 to April 30, L.L.Bean invites its U.S. customers to spend 15 minutes outside each day to experience what we call “awe” — the moments of wonder and mystery unique to adventures in the great outdoors. Participants can hike, run, play or take a walk in their neighborhood and track qualifying outdoor activities in Strava each day of the challenge.

Those who complete The L.L.Bean 15 Challenge will be entered to win the America the Beautiful - The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass, which provides access to more than 2,000 sites including National Parks, National Forests and National Wildlife Refuges for the next year. Participation in the challenge will also help raise money for Mental Health America, with whom L.L.Bean has engaged in a two-year grant program focused on mental wellbeing in the outdoors.

“Ultimately, the L.L.Bean 15 Challenge demonstrates how we collaborate to get more people outside more consistently, supporting organizations and initiatives that will have tangible benefits for those who participate,” said L.L.Bean Chief Marketing Officer Nicholas Wilkoff.
