A Course of Action

We partnered with The Trust for Public Land to give Chicagoans 18 new reasons to get outside.

There are around 5000 miniature golf courses in the U.S., but you won’t find any like Chicago’s Douglass 18. Nestled in beautiful Douglass Park, on the West Side of the city, this newly renovated course provides a uniquely wonderful outdoor experience everyone in the neighborhood can enjoy together.

Not only does this outdoor spot offer an incredible resource for locals to get some fresh air, have fun, and connect to each other, it also provides a way to spend quality time outside that’s readily accessible to everyone in the area. After decades of facing its fair share of obstacles – including systemic racism and a lack of outdoor opportunities, we couldn’t think of a neighborhood more deserving. For 18 holes, people of all ages can share, destress, laugh, and of course play. And the only obstacles you’ll find at the Douglass 18, are on the course.

In addition to being conveniently located for easy local access, it’s the only course where you’re guaranteed to see a birdie, no matter how you play. Because with some help from local artists and the Lincoln Park Zoo, teens from the local community thoughtfully designed Douglass 18 to celebrate the birdlife that frequents the area. It’s a recreational, educational, and impactful outdoor experience all in one.
