Behind the Scenes: Meet Our Models
At L.L.Bean, we’ve always believed spending time outside brings out the best in all of us. Many of our models are people who inspire us daily, sharing our love and passion for the outdoors. We’re proud to introduce you to just a few of these incredible people who are featured in our catalogs.
Desiree Vargas
Desiree is a community social justice educator, advocate, activist, consultant and organizer, a member of the City of Bangor's Human Rights & Diversity Committee, and a councilwoman of the Higuayagua Taino of the Caribbean tribe. When she is not working, she is taking two language classes, gardening, crafting, doing archery, hunting, hiking, camping and creating herbal remedies.
Julie, Leon & Anouk Benn
Julie Mattei-Benn is an L.L.Bean Creative Director. She is featured with her husband, fine artist Leon Benn, and their adorable 2-1/2-year-old daughter, Anouk. They love hiking, observing nature and looking for bugs. They also spend a lot of time in their backyard grilling, playing, gardening and looking for more bugs!
Christi Holmes
Christi is an avid outdoorsperson, hunter and angler, as well as a registered Maine Guide and Appalachian Trail through-hiker. She lives in Gray, ME.
Ryan & Zoe Adams
Ryan Adams is an artist and father in Portland, Maine. He and his wife, artist Rachel Gloria Adams, started the Piece-Together Project, an outdoor art project that transforms shared spaces in Portland’s diverse East Bayside neighborhood with murals that honor and celebrate members of the community.
Tahira, Jaime & Sasha Kahn
Tahira is a Photo Art Director for the Creative department at L.L.Bean. She moved to Maine in 2016 along with her husband Jaime and their daughter Sasha. They enjoy spending time outdoors together hiking, swimming, skiing and gardening.
Dan Rice
Dan is training to become a registered Maine guide and loves hunting and fishing. He lives in Pittston, ME, and was featured in a recent Maine Fish & Game Podcast.
