I love this comforter. I got it about 3-4 years ago in a twin. It is super fluffy, which is amazing because feeling like you are wrapped in a fluffy cloud when you're in bed is the best way to sleep. It can still be a bit cold at first in NE winters but keeps you body heat in and quickly you are warm. In the morning when the room is cold all your heat is under the blanket and I never want to leave my bed. The only drawback I've found is that I seem to be seeing a lot of feather "dust" or little feathers floating in the air...I'm assuming theyre coming from the comforter when I move or fluff it. I didn't notice it before and sometimes it bothers me but I'm still keeping this one and most likely buying another one in queen soon. I also love that it has corner ties because my cheap duvet for school didn't and it slid all over the place inside the cover. This one stays where it should until I'm ready to wash the cover. Overall I would highly recommend this. It seems a little pricy but I did some looking and many comparable comfortables are around the same price or more expensive and at least this one has the LLBean guarentee along with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WaistBelted Warm, well-made baffle box down comforter
After great dissatisfaction with other down comforters, and having read many reviews of down comforters, I finally selected this one. I use a king comforter on my queen bed, inside a tight weave allergy encasement, then inside a duvet cover. This comforter is very warm but not heavy. I liked the fabric and construction. As others point out, corner ties would be helpful, but are not a deal breaker. I am not sure the baffle box construction prevents all down shifting, and next time might purchase a sewn-through version. I asked customer service about down shifting from box to box prior to purchase, and they said it would not and could not shift. It does shift given several nights in the same positioning without substantial shaking to redistribute.

Rated 5 out of 5 by gamechanger thinking of getting one for my son....
I bought this down comforter about 1 1/2 years ago. I was worried about the "crinkly" sound, but actually it doesn't bother me at all. Put on a comforter cover and use the LLBean flannel sheets (which are like clouds) and you've muffled it quite a bit.
Here's the thing: when you are nice and warm, you don't move about so much, or pull on the covers. This means no more "cover wars." Game-changer!
Honestly, I should've bought a down comforter 25 years ago.

I am loving this comforter. It's very lightweight, but good and warm. I keep the thermostat cool (63) for sleeping and this is the perfect level of warmth. There is a bit of a crinkly sound, but having it in a duvet cover takes care of that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by reviewed2 Glad I got the warm vs warmer
Love this down comforter. Since I am always on the warm side, was glad I purchased the warm version vs the "warmer" version. Here in CT, we see nights in the teens and single digits in the winter and this comforter is plenty warm. We have a sateen LL Bean duvet cover on it as well and love it. Some people say the comforter has a "crinkly" sound to it, which we would agree. But with the duvet cover, it softens the sound. The crinkly sound could be annoying to some, but does not have any affect on the warmth of the comforter. Very happy with our purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ColdMidwestern Warm and light but...
I bought this comforter, after reading lots of reviews, to replace an old comforter that had a very uneven distribution of down. The Bean Baffle-box claims to prevent this very condition. I've had the comforter for a couple of months now and I use it with an LLBean duvet cover. The two fit perfectly. The comforter is extremely light, the crinkly noise others complain about does not bother me, and it has proven to be warm (I keep the thermostat at 65 at night.) However, when I remove the cover and light shines through the comforter, it is clear that the down is pretty tightly clumped in some of the boxes. I've shaken, and shaken, and put the comforter in the dryer all to no avail. My next attempt will be to work on individual boxes to see if I can release the clumps of down to get a more even distribution within the boxes. I've kept the comforter because it seems to be warm regardless of the clumping. This is not a problem I've read in other reviews so I am wondering if this particular comforter is defective in some way? Suggestions for "releasing" the clumps?

I searched for hours over several weeks for the perfect comforter and chose the Bean baffle box down comforter, warm. Originally got the warmer but I could tell right out of the package that it would be too warm and sent it back. We live in the NC mountains (2200feet) and keep the temp at ~62 at night. I'm very cold-natured (icy hands and feet) and my husband is very hot-natured (sweats in a snow storm) so it was hard to find the right balance. We use this comforter in various combinations depending upon the weather. Might use it with flannel or fleece sheets or just lightweight cotton sheets, sometimes with flannel duvet cover or lightweight cotton duvet cover, or sometimes with no top sheet, just the comforter + duvet cover on top. I never get too hot but my husband overheated a few times when we first got the comforter. We just had to find the right combination of sheets and duvet covers and now it is perfect for both of us.
The king size is plenty long 1 direction, wish it was a little longer both ways because it does not cover the entire pillow top mattress set lengthwise, but it's the longest size available as far as I have found in my search.
Yes it makes a crinkly sound, but both my husband and I kind of like the sound. It somehow sounds comforting to both of us and not bothersome at all.
Bean customer service was excellent through many different orders and exchanges in my search for the perfect comforter and duvet cover. PS, bought my mom the Primaloft comforter because she wants something very light and is allergic to down -she loves it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JKMD So wonderful
I chose the "warmer" option because the "warm" was temporarily out of stock.
I love it! I was worried about it being hot and sweaty - it isn't! It's so fluffy and comfy. Fills in the duvet perfectly. We've been sleeping with it for about a month and my sleep and comfort have been transformed!
The "noise" that people are talking about is completely unfounded. It just sounds like crispy sheets moving around. I feel like a queen!
We now don't even keep the heat on- yes, granted, it's ElNino in Chicago so still doable without heat :)

I loved that the comforter was available in a cream color--that was hard to find. When I first bought it, the crinkling noise bothered me, but I kept it hoping that a couple of washings would soften it. No luck. After a few years, it's warm and in great shape but still noisy. I wish I'd returned it right away. I'm off to buy a different comforter this weekend before the weather gets too cold.

I am returning the comforter. It's really warm; but the 100% cotton makes a really annoying sound when you move. I wonder if it's coated with something to make it waterproof? In any event -- it was too disruptive for sound sleep.
