Rated 1 out of 5áby guyguy too small, little stretch in material
This hat is a beautiful color and well made, but this version of Polartec has very little stretch, feels thin and the one size fits all did not fit my admittedly big head.
Glad Beans has such a good return policy.

This is the best winter hat that I have ever owned hands down.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Deborah48 Wind proof fleece hat
This is a comfortable hat but not sufficient for below freezing. It could use an inside layer of regular fleece to make it toasty for a real Maine winter. Best for mid 30's and above.

Rated 5 out of 5áby RAC7 JUST NOW REALLY LOVING IT!
The cold weather is just now coming to the North Carolina mountains. I had one of these hats and my wife "stole" it and loves it. SO, bought two more for both us and we love them. Very comfortable and definitely warm! Even in the rain, they keep your noggin dry!

Rated 2 out of 5áby Patch99 Same hat?
I read through the reviews of this hat and have to wonder if everyone is reviewing the same hat. Too big. Too small. Doesn't block the wind. Blows off head in wind. Not warm enough for full on winter weather.
And then there's me. My hat fits perfectly. With activity it will ride up a bit and require the occasional tug to keep it over my ears, but every hat of this type I've ever worn does that. My hat blocks the wind like a block wall. I wore a different hat yesterday and the difference was obvious. I could clearly feel air circulating through that hat, but not with this Wind Challenger.
The biggest issue I have with this hat, and the sole reason for my not giving it more stars, is I find it TOO warm and with zero air circulation. No matter how cold it is outside, when I wear this hat for more than ten minutes my head gets ringing wet. It can be -10F outside and if I'm doing anything more strenuous than walking to the car, I can count on sweat dripping from under the hat. I wore it to ride my bike in 40F weather the other day. When I got home my head looked like I'd just stepped out of the shower. The rest of me wasn't even damp. I turned the cap inside out and it took almost a day for it to completely dry.
I've had my hat for three years now. It still looks like new because I seldom use it. Last week I bought a wool/polyester blend replacement because the Wind Challenger is way too warm and doesn't allow for any air circulation. Maybe it would be good if you lived in the Antarctic. In my area, where it seldom gets much below -10F, this hat is too effective.

Love this hat. It fits very snug and is very warm. It keeps the wind out which is great. It's a great hat all around!

Rated 2 out of 5áby Sunalsorises Wind Proof?
This is a great hat for very early fall. I'll wear it for the first few weeks of fall when the air is just cool enough to make my bald head feel the cold. The hat becomes basically useless when the temperature gets below 45/50. I also disagree strongly with "windproof" unless wind is characterized as being below 10 mph. I've had mild winds rip this hat to shreds. Once the weather is consistently in the low 40's, this hat goes in the chest for next year.

Excellent winter hat. Fits well; and protects against both cold and wind. Not bulky or uncomfortable. Highly recommended.
