Rated 4 out of 5 by Greatbootsforwinter Great boots for the winter
I spent a lot of time on LL Bean looking at the reviews people posted to figure out the sizing. My husband wears a 9 1/2 and I bought him a size 9 which is perfect with a regular compression sock. I also bought a pair because the women's 8 in. boots are backordered until June! I wear a 9 1/2 in women's and I bought a Men's 8 and they are a little roomy with just a compression sock on but very comfortable. I have only worn them a couple of times. I'm still debating if I should keep them because they are pretty "manly" looking. I have a pair of the 8 in.coming in late June. These boots would have been great for this winter with all the snow we had.

I love the pair I have- but they were getting tired so I ordered a new pair. The sizing recommendations said order a size down - so I did - and they were too small. Now I have to pay for return shipping because there is no "you told me to order this size but they were wrong" check box on the form.

Rated 5 out of 5 by timeh really like them, wish some were available to buy
i have these boots, and i really appreciate them on winter days with lots of rain snow or mud. i usually wear them with a pair of bean boot socks, and heavy pair of home made knitted wool socks on also. I have been wearing them a lot more this year with all below zero temperatures. i've had the same pair for eight years, and I have only had to replace the laces. I'm a dock builder and being warm and dry is hard to do at work but these boots do it. Only problem i have is that i wanted to get my brother a pair of size 12 EE and they don't seem to have any, or know when they ever will!

by CoastalCompliance Rebuild on the Soles WOW
Well again LL Bean comes through... I sent these back after a slight issue with the sole of the left boot. Next thing I know the boots come back with BOTH bottoms rebuild, liners cleaned, new insoles and new laces. Oh and all at no cost to me. What a great company with an iron clad guarantee. That is why I am a third generation lifetime customer.
And just in the nick of time as we had a 7 inch snowfall last night. Shoveled, went sledding and walked the dog with my new re-built Bean Boots! Thanks for a great product.

Boots fitted well and worked well through six inches of snow and five miles on their first outing.

Rated 5 out of 5 So Warm!
I bought these boots for myself (a female,) because the women's were all on backorder. I bought an 8 Narrow, as a 9 regular in women's size. The length is a little too long, but not too long that I trip on myself. The width is perfect- for wool socks and regular socks. And the WARMTH! I can't believe how warm they are. I was wearing Sorel's for the last year, and through they kept my feet dry- my toes were always cold. Not with these! A great alternative to the back ordered women's boots, and the same great quality. The snow that Boston has received in the last month alone has been a great test to the durability of the boots. Great job!

Rated 1 out of 5 by UrbanCommuter3331 Very Disappointed
I bought these boots to replace another pair of Bean Boots that had started taking on water through the sole. Unfortunately, these boots were effective for even less time. Although they are advertised as waterproof, after my second short walk (5 minutes) on a snowy sidewalk, my feet were soaking wet. My experience with these boots is that they are marginally better than a pair of sneakers. I will be returning these boots and hope that since they performed so poorly, LL Bean will not charge me the $7 return fee because I am not aN LL Bean card holder.

Hunting as a teenager I purchased a pair of the llbean boots.
At the ripe age of 68, I purchased the same type of hunting boots and when I put them on I felt like a teenager again.
Thank You llbean

I really wanted a car, but my parents bought me a pair of these for my 16th birthday in 1992.
They have lasted me longer than anything I own except for a rifle and a chest of drawers. I owned a pair of $200 Danners that did not last two seasons before leaking, let alone 22 years.
I have never babied these boots. Most years they get polished once with clear Kiwi.
I wore them all day every day for four winters of college in Ann Arbor with no car. That alone must account for hundreds of miles on pavement. As these were my only winter boots all this time, I have worn them hunting hundreds of days, even in the deepest Michigan winters and storms. For days below ten degrees, I add chemical toe-warmers and get by pretty well stand-hunting. I also have shoveled decades worth of driveways in these and put serious mileage on walking the dog an hour daily in season.
In all this time, they have never had a problem. No leaks. Not one loose stitch. The leather is just now starting to lose a little color at the creases. I average 11 years per pair of laces and now the tread is wearing. They are still fine unless I'm on sheer ice headed up the sled hill. I suppose I will get them retreaded at some point.
As far as comfort, these are wonderful. As good or better than anything else I've ever worn. I will always own at least a pair (probably this pair!) for as long as I can still get them made in Maine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MagicalFruit I resisted them for years
I always hated the looks of the Bean boot, but had a boot emergency last winter and found myself buying a pair. They were comfortable immediately. The second day I wore them, I went on a five-mile hike up a mountain in the snow, and the boots were great. They're waterproof, they don't make my socks creep off, they're warm without being too hot. I'm glad I gave up and joined the Cult of the Bean Boot.
