I feel very elegant sleeping in my new red flannel nightgown. In Winter my home is very cold and this nightgown keeps me cozy and comfortable. I bought a size up as I always do for sleep wear.

This is the 3rd llbean vintage flannel nightgown i have purchased and used regularly through the years. I love the frill-free styling and the fact that it holds up well to daily use. I have only given 4 stars because, like many other reviewers, I so wish it were made of a heavier flannel. If this style were available in a heavy cotton flannel, it would be a 10 star item. The only heavy flannel nightgowns available are laden with lace and elastic. My choice was one like that or another from llbean, adding layers over and under. LLBean could remedy this by simply making a version that is heavy flannel. What's to lose? There are many of us who would love it and would likely be willing to pay more for it!

I love the vintage styling of this nightgown. The styling is just what I am looking for; BUT... the fabric was so incredibly thin - I was shocked. I cannot imagine it being warm or lasting very long. It most certainly is not what you would think of when you hear the word "flannel". After seeing and feeling the fabric in person, I am not sure how "flannel" fits into the description. If this style could be made in a true, high quality flannel, I most certainly would purchase one, and likely two or three. Needless to say, I returned the gown. Will try PJ's instead.

There is a ridiculous amount of fabric with this garment. I was drowning in it. Granted, I am a short person (5'3"), so maybe this wasn't the smartest choice. It's soft, I'll give you that, but it's not very flattering. If you like being extra warm at night and don't mind a homely look, this is for you.

I love this gown which arrived yesterday as a replacement with not charge for my other gown. The one that I had to return was short in length and in the arm length. I called LLBean, and spoke with a lovely person who assured me to return that gown and another would be sent. I have not washed and dried the new gown yet,
but it is long enough to allow for a bit of shrinkage.
Once again I am pleased with the clothing, the product guarantee
and the pleasant customer service. Thank You LLBean!

A beautiful gown, beautifully made, generously proportioned. BUT not the flannel weight one is used to. It's lightweight, more a spring/fall gown than a winter one.

Have been looking at this gown for my sister and myself for a couple of years. Finally this year I decided to splurge and buy for us as a Christmas gift. The left side seam on my sisters gown wasn't sewn down, and the whole thing fell apart!! I couldn't believe it was made So badly. The flannel is thin and feels more like a broadcloth fabric. The style is so cute, but the quality is very poor.
I have a rough time spending this much on an outfit, let alone a nightgown . SO DISSAPOINTED

I own four of these (in Indigo/Dk. Cranberry/Barberry/Clear Blue Dobby). I practically live in these gowns in the winter on my days off and on the weekends! My ensemble usually consists of smartwool long johns, legwarmers and my "wicked good (sheepskin) clogs!
I disagree with other reviewers on the issue of shrinkage; I have always washed and line dried my gowns and they are the same size as on arrival...just softer!
The only improvement that I could recommend would be side-seam-pockets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MirandaT Comfortable gown but it shrinks in the wash.
I've been wearing these nightgowns for years and usually get a new color each winter. I am 5'10" tall and when the gowns first arrive the XL fit is perfect. Length is low mid-calf and sleeves are good. As the gowns get worn and washed they get shorter and the sleeves get very short - ending up 3 or more inches above my wrists. This is an unnecessary problem which LLB could easily address by using pre-shrunk fabrics. At this price, the gowns should fit well indefinitely.

Rated 3 out of 5 by CaseyR Nice design, but thin fabric
This nightgown is roomy, and has a nice design, but the fabric is thin. I expected better quality from LLBean. I give it 3 stars for design and comfort, but am disappointed with the fabric weight.
