Rated 5 out of 5 by Figment So sad they are discontinued
I am very distressed to learn that these great leather and fabric boots are being discontinued for women's sizes. Had some and loved them. An eyelet tore loose, so I brought them back for repair, and went to get another pair--but none in my size. So I decided to wait until a new shipment came in....and now I find out that will be NEVER! I should have kept the defective ones and had them repaired by a shoemaker.
I too wish they would bring back the black ones. (luckily I bought 2 pair when they were available.) I wear them constantly. With a little shoe polish, they are perfect for travel dress up with pants--and also for hiking when I get there!

Mt daughter has these boots and loves them. The problem is she cannot wear them for work and needs them in black. Can you please let me know if you will ever have them in black? Thank you for your help.
Anyone thinking about purchasing these boots, go for it you won't be sorry....

Rated 2 out of 5 by njtrails love the fit, not the hardware
I bought these shoes in December 2015, and love the 11N. They fit well and my long narrow foot doesn't slide around in them. However, while hiking this summer the inside top hooks started bending out, essentially opening, so much so, that they caught on the loop of the opposite lace and tripped me a couple of times. I asked llbean if they could repair the boots and they said "no" but replaced them. I was thrilled. Now, after two wearings, the hooks have turned out AGAIN. I took them to my cobbler, and he doesn't have the right hardware. My husband tried to crimp them a little, but I'm afraid of weakening the metal even further. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gideon663l still treking after all these years
my LB boots are not new, they look old and ragged; they are over ten years old. they traveled many places, over rugged boulders, mushy mountain trails, and too many off mountain trails. And after all the rugged miles, they remain waterproof, comfortable, and no blisters. I do remember shopping for these boots; i went to every store, sports store, shoe store, etc, looking for boots to fit my small feet; that would not slip; and it was the LLB Store that took the time to ask me questions and I found out after trying on all the boots it was the socks I that made the fit. But it was the LLBean staffer that took his time and encouraged me to invest in a good pair of hiking boots. So it has been ten plus years and the boots are still treking...

by Cris38tin Best. Boots. Ever.
I am in love.
I very rarely write reviews, but after putting these boots through some intense hiking and having them perform beautifully, I feel I have to.
Yesterday I hiked two high peaks in NY. It was an 11 mile, 3,300 vertical foot hike through rain, snow, drastic temperature changes and 50 mph winds at the top. The trail was muddy and miserable, but when I got back to the car, my feet were completely dry and blister free! My two hiking mates were completely convinced they needed to invest in their own by the time we got down the mountain.
One of my favorite parts of these boots is how they cradle my feet perfectly, so when descending the mountain, my toes aren't squished against the front of the boot at all.
Additionally, they have what I call "monster truck" tread, allowing me to walk right up rock slides my hiking companions have to scramble up using their hands.
They're also insanely comfortable, and I didn't have to break them in at all.
I can't say enough good things about these boots. I've had them for a little over a year, they've been up 12 peaks and they're good as new. Can't wait to put many, many more miles on them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JillianTJ Awesome hiking boots
My only problem is how heavy they are. Tires your feet out. But super quality, they look and fit great. Roomy for extra thick socks. Comfortable. The best boots i've ever owned and worth every penny. They will last years, if not decades!

Love these Cresta leather hiking boots.
Superior ankle support for the off-trail hikes that my dogs and I take on rough ground.
And 100% waterproof (we spend a lot of time crossing over, playing in, and exploring, small local creeks).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Charmanda Great Product!
I bought these boots to be used as my primary footwear last summer. I worked on a trail crew in the Adirondacks where I spent 5 days a week for 10 weeks in the back-country doing intense physical labor in any and all conditions. Not once did my feet get wet, except when I stepped in water well over the top of the boot. When the insides did get wet, all I had to do was take out the insole and squeeze out the water and let them sit out over night and they were nearly dry the next day. They are so comfortable and don't take any time to break in. From day one I loved them, and they survived the whole summer! I plan on using them again this summer too. The laces got a little beat up, but I replaced those. All in all, amazing boots. I would recommend them for anyone! Especially if you're working outdoors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Scooners Wish I didn't wait so long...
I have a German Shepherd that doesn't quit and needs daily LONG walks, hikes, and play time. My feet, ankles, knees, hips, and lower back have been gradually giving me the protest no matter what I tried on my feet. I would be sore everyday after walking or hiking with my dog and working around the yard ( and I am in good shape). I have been eyeing these boots for awhile, but I was skeptical about the rave reviews, not to mention the expense. Boy, was I ever wrong! Within 2 days of wearing these boots, my pain has all but disappeared. The support and comfort of these boots are really top notch. No trouble out of the box, and they just keep getting better. I am sold! I have even used them in 0 degree weather and they are plenty warm. I wear either a 7.5 or 8 and the 7.5 fit fine with room to spare. I have to wear heavy socks with them, or 2 pair of normal weight socks. Size 7 would have put my toe too close to the end. Buy these, you won't regret it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HopefulHeart Great ankle support
Ordered an 8 1/2 narrow because 8 unavailable. A little squeaky at first, but the more I hike, the softer and quieter they become. Love the ankle support. Warm, waterproof and classic looking. Glad I got the extra length for my toes. Even comes with a second pair of shoelaces in dark green. Highy recommend. I'll have these for a long time.
