I am in love.
I very rarely write reviews, but after putting these boots through some intense hiking and having them perform beautifully, I feel I have to.
Yesterday I hiked two high peaks in NY. It was an 11 mile, 3,300 vertical foot hike through rain, snow, drastic temperature changes and 50 mph winds at the top. The trail was muddy and miserable, but when I got back to the car, my feet were completely dry and blister free! My two hiking mates were completely convinced they needed to invest in their own by the time we got down the mountain.
One of my favorite parts of these boots is how they cradle my feet perfectly, so when descending the mountain, my toes aren't squished against the front of the boot at all.
Additionally, they have what I call "monster truck" tread, allowing me to walk right up rock slides my hiking companions have to scramble up using their hands.
They're also insanely comfortable, and I didn't have to break them in at all.
I can't say enough good things about these boots. I've had them for a little over a year, they've been up 12 peaks and they're good as new. Can't wait to put many, many more miles on them!

My only problem is how heavy they are. Tires your feet out. But super quality, they look and fit great. Roomy for extra thick socks. Comfortable. The best boots i've ever owned and worth every penny. They will last years, if not decades!

Love these Cresta leather hiking boots.
Superior ankle support for the off-trail hikes that my dogs and I take on rough ground.
And 100% waterproof (we spend a lot of time crossing over, playing in, and exploring, small local creeks).

I bought these boots to be used as my primary footwear last summer. I worked on a trail crew in the Adirondacks where I spent 5 days a week for 10 weeks in the back-country doing intense physical labor in any and all conditions. Not once did my feet get wet, except when I stepped in water well over the top of the boot. When the insides did get wet, all I had to do was take out the insole and squeeze out the water and let them sit out over night and they were nearly dry the next day. They are so comfortable and don't take any time to break in. From day one I loved them, and they survived the whole summer! I plan on using them again this summer too. The laces got a little beat up, but I replaced those. All in all, amazing boots. I would recommend them for anyone! Especially if you're working outdoors.

I have a German Shepherd that doesn't quit and needs daily LONG walks, hikes, and play time. My feet, ankles, knees, hips, and lower back have been gradually giving me the protest no matter what I tried on my feet. I would be sore everyday after walking or hiking with my dog and working around the yard ( and I am in good shape). I have been eyeing these boots for awhile, but I was skeptical about the rave reviews, not to mention the expense. Boy, was I ever wrong! Within 2 days of wearing these boots, my pain has all but disappeared. The support and comfort of these boots are really top notch. No trouble out of the box, and they just keep getting better. I am sold! I have even used them in 0 degree weather and they are plenty warm. I wear either a 7.5 or 8 and the 7.5 fit fine with room to spare. I have to wear heavy socks with them, or 2 pair of normal weight socks. Size 7 would have put my toe too close to the end. Buy these, you won't regret it.

Ordered an 8 1/2 narrow because 8 unavailable. A little squeaky at first, but the more I hike, the softer and quieter they become. Love the ankle support. Warm, waterproof and classic looking. Glad I got the extra length for my toes. Even comes with a second pair of shoelaces in dark green. Highy recommend. I'll have these for a long time.

These boots take me everywhere from day long hikes on the Swiss Alps, to the snowy winter streets of NYC, to the construction site I regularly visit as an architect. They are durable, comfortable, supportive, and easy to move around in. No breaking in needed. Well ventilated in summer hiking, well insulated in winter hiking. I also get complements on the classic look of the boot. PLEASE make other colors! I would love to wear a classic black boot for a more urban look.
Thank you for making an excellent classic yet comfortable boot!

My current pair of Cresta Ridge boots date back to Oct. 2007. I wear them year round: hiking in the summer and snowshoeing in the winter. Daily. We have a lab mix (aka The Dude) who needs daily off leash running or he becomes naughty. These boots allow me to explore the adjacent Black Hills National Forest and keep up with The Dude.
I have a wide foot and these fit!
Preparing to order a new pair for dress up attire. The old favorites will continue to hike and snowshoe with me (and The Dude).
Thanks LLBean for a great product.

I bought these boots 15+ years ago, there has been many updates since then, but they are worth every penny. They are incredible on any trail, in any weather! They make you feel indestructible! Sorry to the snakes I have absent mindly stepped on. I was too quiet, and these shoes are too tough for there little fangs. Nonetheless, I have never worried about my feet on any adventure!

by TheATBeanScout The Best Boots
I recently completed a 700 mile hike on the Appalachian Trail and while I have found boots to be one of the most personal pieces of gear for a hiker, buying these boots was one of the best decisions I made while preparing for my hike. I wore these boots consistently for about a week before my hike to break them in and had no issues with blisters or sore feet. Once I started hiking I did deal with some blisters initially, but nothing more than what would be expected when starting a backpacking trip. These boots kept my feet dry through my whole trip. I was able to ford streams with water coming up a few inches on my boots and stay completely dry, and with a good pair of gaiters I was able to keep water from getting in through the top of my boots. These boots were pretty beat up at the end of my trip, but survived the mud of Vermont, the White Mountains, the rocks, roots, and bogs of Maine, as well as a climb up Mt. Katahdin. When I got home I was able to exchange these boots for a new pair so now I'm ready for my next adventure!
