Joining is easy and free. You can sign up online at llbean.com, in a U.S. L.L.Bean Retail Store or Outlet, or when placing an order with us over the phone. You’ll just need to provide basic information like your name, phone number, email address, and billing address. The program is open to U.S. residents age 18 or older.

You earn points on eligible purchases made:

• In U.S. L.L.Bean Retail Stores or Outlets
• On llbean.com
• By phone through L.L.Bean’s Customer Service

Most merchandise purchases qualify. Purchases made through L.L.Bean’s Outdoor Discovery Programs, L.L.Bean for Business, or third-party retailers are excluded from earning points.

Points don’t have cash value on their own, but they unlock Bean Bucks, which are reward dollars you can use toward future L.L.Bean purchases.

You earn 1 point for every $1 spent on eligible purchases. Points are calculated after discounts and before taxes, shipping, and other fees.

Points are added when payment for your purchase is processed:

• In-store: shortly after purchase
• Online/phone: once your order ships

Once you earn 150 points, you’ll receive $5 in Bean Bucks. You don’t need to do anything—your points will automatically convert to Bean Bucks once you hit the threshold.

When you place a new order, you can apply them to receive a discount on eligible L.L.Bean purchases:

• When you sign in to your llbean.com account before checkout
• When you provide your phone number or name and zip code in U.S. L.L.Bean Retail Stores or Outlets
• When ordering by phone through Customer Service

Bean Bucks can be used towards the price of merchandise or select services purchased from L.L.Bean. Bean Bucks can be combined with other discounts.

No. Bean Bucks earned through L.L.Bean Rewards are non transferable and may only be earned and used by the member associated with the account.

Points don’t expire as long as your membership remains active.

Yes, your full Bean Bucks balance will expire 9 months (specifically, 270 days) after your most recent Bean Bucks earn event, which is the last time your Bean Bucks balance was increased.

We’ll send email reminders, but you can always check your llbean.com account for the most up-to-date expiration date.

If you are approved for an L.L.Bean Mastercard, the dollar value of your available points and any available Bean Bucks earned through the L.L.Bean Rewards program will automatically convert to your new L.L.Bean Mastercard account . Please allow up to 30 days for the transfer to be processed.

If you return an item purchased at L.L.Bean, any points earned on the returned item will be deducted from your account. Any Bean Bucks used toward that purchase will be credited back to your account, and your Bean Bucks expiration date will reset. Your updated balances and expiration date will be reflected in your account after the return is processed.

Your balance may be displaying as negative if you made a return that deducted more points than you had available in your account. You’ll need to earn enough points to get back to zero before your balance can start growing again.

L.L.Bean Rewards members enjoy free standard shipping on purchases totaling at least $50, after promotions and discounts but before Bean Bucks, shipped to a single U.S. address.

You’ll earn one vote per L.L.Bean purchase. Votes can be cast during designated annual voting windows to guide an L.L.Bean donation of $250,000 to a selection of non-profit organizations chosen by L.L.Bean. The donations will be allocated among the selected organizations based on each organization’s percentage of the total votes cast.

You must have an llbean.com account to cast your votes. Any uncast votes at the end of each voting window will be forfeited.

To make sure you get full credit for your purchases and access to your benefits, simply identify yourself as a member when you shop:

• Online: Sign in to your llbean.com account before checkout
• In stores or by phone: Share your phone number or name and ZIP code

You will earn a percentage on all eligible net purchases: 5% at L.L.Bean’s businesses in the U.S; 2% at restaurants; 1% on all other eligible net L.L.Bean Mastercard purchases. You may only earn 1%, not 2%, on restaurant purchases at bakeries and certain restaurants/cafes inside department stores, grocery or warehouse clubs, as determined by L.L.Bean in its discretion, due to merchant codes which are out of the control of Citibank or L.L.Bean.

Bean Bucks are not earned on balance transfers, convenience checks, cash advances, credits, returned purchases, foreign currency purchases, unauthorized purchases, annual fees, money orders, wire transfers, bets, lottery tickets or casino gaming chips, credit insurance premiums, credit protection fees, interest charges, credit card fees and purchases made with Bean Bucks. Bean Bucks may only be used towards the price of merchandise or services purchased from L.L.Bean. 

Once your L.L.Bean Mastercard’s monthly billing statement is available, it will indicate the total number of Bean Bucks earned and available for use.

Cardmembers may redeem Bean Bucks in any amount, when making a purchase at L.L.Bean. Bean Bucks are accepted online, by phone or at any L.L.Bean Retail Store or Outlet. Bean Bucks are not redeemable towards expedited shipping and handling, oversized freight delivery, sales tax, a L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Program or a L.L.Bean for Business Purchase, nor are they redeemable for cash. No, Bean Bucks do not expire, however your if your L.L.Bean Mastercard account is closed, not in good standing, or you fail to use your L.L.Bean Mastercard for at least one (1) purchase every twenty-four (24) months, you will not be able to earn or redeem Bean Bucks, and any unredeemed Bean Bucks will be forfeited unless prohibited by law. If you return an item purchased at L.L.Bean, any portion of your payment made with Bean Bucks will result in a replacement of Bean Bucks back to your account, or in L.L.Bean’s discretion a merchandise credit.
