L.L.Bean Appoints Jared Carver and Kyle Leahy as Independent Directors

Accomplished retail executives bring CEO-level leadership, brand-building expertise and growth experience to the L.L.Bean Board of Directors

L.L.Bean, Inc. today announced the appointment of Jared Carver and Kyle Leahy as Independent Directors to its Board of Directors. The appointments were approved by L.L.Bean shareholders at the company’s annual meeting in June.

Carver and Leahy join the Board at an important time for the iconic outdoor lifestyle brand as L.L.Bean continues its omni-channel expansion and customer growth initiatives.

“Jared and Kyle are accomplished, results-oriented leaders who bring deep experience in brand marketing, merchandising, retail transformation and growth,” said Shawn Gorman, Chairman of the L.L.Bean Board of Directors. “Their perspectives will be valuable as we continue to grow our business, serve our customers and steward the L.L.Bean brand for future generations.”

Carver is CEO of Tracksmith, a Boston-based running apparel and footwear brand. He brings extensive consumer products and brand-building experience to the L.L.Bean Board, including more than a decade at Nike and prior leadership as President and CEO of Converse.

Leahy is the former CEO of Glossier, a community-driven, modern beauty brand where she led a successful growth and omni-channel transformation. She previously spent 10 years at Cole Haan in a series of senior leadership roles, including Executive Vice President of its North America division.

Carver and Leahy join a Board that includes L.L.Bean family directors, the company’s CEO Greg Elder, and veteran Independent Directors Matt Moellering and Lynn Kilbourne. Together, they will bring additional CEO-level leadership, strong New England roots and a genuine affinity for the L.L.Bean brand.

With these appointments, L.L.Bean also recognizes outgoing Independent Directors Diane Neal and Deborah Yeh for their outstanding service. Since joining the Board in 2021, Neal and Yeh have contributed retail and executive leadership experience, thoughtful counsel and meaningful guidance to the company.

“We are deeply grateful to Diane and Deborah for the insight, perspective and commitment they have brought to the Board over the past five years,” said Gorman. “Their guidance has helped L.L.Bean navigate an important period of growth and change, and their contributions will continue to have a lasting impact on the company.”

L.L.Bean, Inc. is a leading multichannel merchant of quality outdoor gear and apparel. Founded in 1912 by Leon Leonwood Bean, the company began as a one-room operation selling a single product, the Maine Hunting Shoe. Still family owned, Shawn Gorman, great grandson of Leon Leonwood Bean, was named Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2013. While its business has grown over the years, L.L.Bean continues to uphold the values of its founder, including his dedication to quality, customer service and a love of the outdoors. In 2025, L.L.Bean donated over $4.3 million to outdoor and community-enriching organizations focused on increasing access to and inclusivity in the outdoors. L.L.Bean operates over 70 stores in 20 states across the United States, along with 18 stores in Japan and 16 stores in Canada, in partnership with Jaytex Group. The 220,000-sq. ft.
