I have purchased and worn about 10 of these pants in different colors and sizes over the years (I have gained and lost weight) and something is different. My suspicion is that these pants are being assembled/created by a different manufacturer. I'm 5'3" and 127 lbs. The 10 petite (with pleats) used to fit the way I like it -- somewhat loose, just the right length, and not too tight around my butt. But these pants (the last 3 size 10 I ordered are without pleats) now are too tight, hard to button, the rise is too high and the length way too long. This was the one product at LLBean that I thought I could count on, especially when they brought it back. Now I'm disappointed. I'm going to try the size 12.

Have several pairs of these, purchased over 3 years.... In two sizes (!), even. Love them!! They fit me perfectly in both the waist and hips, and are nicely flattering on my body type and comfortable. I wish the same waist and hips came in a straight leg, rather than tapered, because I prefer to wear clunky shoes. I especially LIke the new Dark Cement color. I'm buying several pair to "set back" for later, while there is a sale on.

I ordered three pairs of these pants in different colors. They fit me perfectly! I have a slimmer waist with a little bit wider hips and I'm taller than average. These pants fit me every which way! They're keepers, and I'll definitely order more from this company.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Rusty34119 Please bring back the pleated front
I have worn these pants for many years. I loved them. However, the comfort waist should be tossed out. They are very uncomfortable and do not fit.
Have been buying the plain front but prefer the pleated front. The plain front waist is too tight and too high.

Good everyday pants, fit well, easy care fabric. I wear them almost all the time. So glad LL Bean brought back the original fit. I could not find the equivalent in any other store.

These pants used to fit great. However, the fit has changed: the rise is too high and shows way too much detail of the backside that is not desirable or flattering for many women. Also, the waist is too tight to be comfortable for many who have had children and who are just about 5 pounds over weight. The style of these pants is more for mature women than teenagers; so the fit does not conform to the style. The style is designed for women 35+, so the rise should be about 1 inch lower and the waist about 1 inch more in diameter to look classy and fit comfortably. Many women wear these pants to work and want to look professional and feel comfortable; and can no longer do so due to the change in fit. Please return these to their original overall sizing. I have been wearing these pants for about 10 years because I wanted to be comfortable while looking fairly neat and professional; and can no longer do so due to the change in fit. I am just under 5 feet tall and weigh around 120 pounds; and I am in no way big; so if these pants are too small for me as a very Petite Size 8, they are way too small for most women who are Petite Medium. The Regular size 8 would not fit Petites well in the hips and legs. The Petite M sizing needs to be changed to fit more mature Petite women.

Ordered these and very disappointed with sizing. Typically wear a size 6-8 in other slacks, and a size 8-10 were way too small. Will return and get a refund.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ChangeBackPlease Fabric Too Thin
I have worn LL Bean Bayside Twills for about 22years. My favorite style was the original fit with pleated front. It fit me well, and I really wish you would bring that style back.
I have switched to the original fit with plain front out of necessity. The fit is OK/tolerable, but I am really disappointed by the quality of the pants I've purchased recently. I am a veterinarian and spend a lot of time bending down and kneeling on the floor. The last several pairs of pants I've purchased have developed holes in the knees within 3-6months of purchase. In the past, a pair of your Bayside Twills would last for several years before the fabric got so thin I had to throw them out. I am buying more today because it is very difficult to find pants w/ this design/fit anymore--it seems like everything in the stores has gone to a low waist, fitted style which just doesn't work on my body.
In the past, I've never had quality/durability problems w/ things I've purchased from LL Bean. I hope you take a critical look at your material suppliers and hopefully institute some changes.

I love and have been wearing the Bayside Twills for many many years now. My only complaint is the button on front. The buttons fall off usually after the first washing. They are sewn so loosely that I have now learned to go ahead and sew them again as soon as I receive a new pair of pants. Other than loose buttons, these are the only casual pants that I own and my most favorite in the closet.

I like this style, but only as a second to the pleated fit. I have a hard time finding comfortable pants and have loved the original pleated fit for years.
