Our comfort ranges are based on tests simulating a 28-year-old man of average build wearing appropriate layers. When a range is shown, the first temperature indicates the product's comfort rating during light to moderate activity, such as walking slowly. The second temperature indicates the comfort rating during moderate activity, such as jogging a short distance or snowshoeing. When selecting outerwear or footwear, please consider your personal response to cold, your activity level and local weather conditions.

Introduced in 1912 for walking the wet, muddy Maine woods, these boots have been appreciated for their superior functionality for over 99 years. Today, gardeners and hunters alike write us to say L.L.Bean Boots are still their favorite shoes for wet weather. Crafted from premium waterproof full-grain leather, with a supportive steel shank and our original rubber chain-tread bottom. Upper portion of boot is lined with warm shearling and can be rolled down and tied with a specially designed lacing system. Boot bottom is lined with 200-gram Thinsulate™ Insulation. Triple-stitched for durability right here in Maine. Genuine American shearling lamb fur is dyed and treated. Fit best with midweight socks.
Please note Half sizes order down. For wear with heavyweight socks, order one whole size up. For example, 9 and 9½ order a size 10.
