Good boot. They run slightly large but that's actually an advantage. I normally wear a size 10 shoe and ordered a size 10 in these boots. I wear a heavier wool sock and a lightweight one and they add to the warmth of the boots. The foot bed seems a little hard so I also use an extra insole. I treat the seams with Snow Seal to ensure they are waterproof. I walk my dog several miles a day on the trails in the woods and in all kinds of weather and now these boots are warm, comfortable and waterproof.

I received these boots at the beginning of the season and have been quite pleased with them. We've gotten about 2.5ft of snow over the last couple weeks and these boots have held up splendidly, even under a 4 mile trek in blizzard-like conditions. The insulation around the ankle is wonderful, but the footbed and toebox call for some heavier socks to keep your feet warm in snow. I've found the fit to be true to any other bean boots. The overall quality and construction of the boot is typical bean quality, save for 2 issues: one minor one more serious. First, after about a month of wear one of the LL Bean labels on the heel of the boot has begun to peel away. I glued it back into place, but it was something I had to take care of- no big deal. The second issue is the insole. It's cheap and comes out of the boot every single time I take them off. This is in part due to the curvature of the rubber part and partially because it's just cheap. It affords no cushion whatsoever and must have been included only so they could say this boot has an insole. Replace this with a quality after market insole and you're good to go. All in all, nice, lined, American-made boot for under $200 bucks, can't complain too much.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jelvis Excellent boots, but absolutely enormous
I like them a lot, but you must order 1-2 sizes down from your real size. Even with your thickest socks on, the boots in "your size" will be absolutely enormous on you.

I got these before a major snowstorm in New York and they are fantastic. The second I put them on my feet, they felt right. I followed LL Bean's sizing guide and wear them with midweight socks and they keep me nice and warm. I took them around upstate and was walking on a frozen lake covered in snow and was perfectly warm. Not a bit of coldness. This was my first pair of bean boots, but definitely not my last. Best investment i've ever made in shoes, without a doubt

These boots have kept my feet warm & dry, and are comfortable! The only thing I have learned is that they are cut a size larger than I normally wear. I returned to LL Bean, and got a size smaller, and I still have room for thick socks!

Try these on in person before you buy. I ordered these according to the recommended sizing. (my husband is a size 8.5 and I ordered an 8) He still had 2 inches in the toe area with thick socks. It's a shame because they are really nice, warm boots. If you can try them on in person before buying, I highly recommend it.

Awesome boots. I went a size smaller as I normally do with LLbean and they fit perfectly. Waterproof up quite far, very warm and after 3 miles of walking my feet were in great shape.
I recommend them to anyone looking for a good pair of winter boots.
Beware, these aren't the boots for those warm winter days. They keep your feet toasty

Rated 4 out of 5 As advertised
I recently purchased these boots, and they are performing as advertised. I bought them up at the main store in Freeport, ME, and all around me was displays with the various styles of boots with clamp on cleats... adn that's probably my only complaint. When walking on wood floors with slightly wet boots, they are very slippery.
I purchased the lined ones because I would be primarily using these in winter. And they seem plenty warm. I used to wear work boots with steel toes, and am a bit used to much more support than these provide.
