We researched several screen rooms/tents & rain flys/floor kits prior to purchasing the LL Bean model (with rain fly/floor). I have been a LL Bean customer for 40+ yrs. We are volunteers for the National Park Service (NPS) & wanted an adjunct space to our Airstream trailer. This is it! I waited until we could test this before writing this Evaluation. Today, we are stationed @ Cape Hatteras LightStation, NC, where the winds in the light house gallery are 35 MPH & 60 MPH gusts. Winds in our nearby campsite are 30-40 MPH. The tent has sustained high winds, 5-6" of continual rain w/o leaks, & has been a great space now for 3 months. I added extra tent stakes & guy ropes w/knot fixers. I would not recommend the tent w/o purchasing the rain fly/floor. The more horizontal walls are unique & add room & deflect water. A great value!

We've only had a chance to use the Woodlands Screen House one time but it was great that time. Looking forward to using it more (although the main reason we use it is to keep bugs away when camping). Worked great, easy to set up and was superb for our two Yorkies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BWhitesides Great from coast to the mountains!
We bought the screen house to use on an upcoming camping trip in the NC Mountains. But before leaving the coast of NC, we set it up for an informal gathering of friends. The screen house worked perfectly to keep the coastal bugs out! And then when using it in the mountains, it worked just as well. And one bonus we had not anticipated was that it worked to keep our puppy confined on the campsite as long as we were in there with her! Set-up and take-down is easy and quick. We had lots of rain in the mountains, so will be purchasing the fly for the future. It made our trip so much more enjoyable, and I would recommend it to anyone either for the coastal bugs and the mountain creatures!

Wonderful screen house, it got 4 stars because the mesh does not protect you from no-see ums or very tiny insects.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Passerina Great -- except for gnats
Have used this screen house for three summers and really loved it until this summer. It's sturdy, it's weathered a few thunderstorms and heavy rain. We call it the "livingroom" and hang out there in the evening. But this year there were a lot of gnats at our site and it felt like thousands of them were in there with us. Unfortunately the screening used is far coarser than the screening of our sleeping tent, and it lets the tiny things through. We were getting bitten like crazy it was worse than outside the tent. We had to abandon it for the rest of the week. I wish the screen had been better quality -- would have made all the difference to us.

Absolutely fabulous screen room. Well designed and high quality!
Set up was a breeze by one person in about 25 mins. We installed the room on an 11' x 11' platform for the entire season.

Spacious, a snap to put up (with a helper for balance), and a 360 degree view. We got the rain flap too, which comes with a floor that snaps into place. We anticipate many enjoyable trips into the outback with our skeeter-proof tent!

Wonderful screen-house! I set it up alone in about 20 minutes. It is incredibly simple to assemble and make ready for use. It would have been faster with help, probably 10 minutes with two people.
One side has a small zippered door, the opposite side has a large zippered door. We were able to carry in a picnic table through the large zippered door. My kids loved the screen-tent for shade, bug-free games & a dry place in the rain (I purchased the rain fly as well). My 2 yr old niece had trouble with the doors as they don't zip down to the ground. Each door has a 8-10 inch threshold (probably a design aspect that allows this to become a tent with floor). She had trouble getting in and out of the screen-tent without tripping, but the older kids and adults were fine. If you can't step up and out over the threshold without needed a hand-hold or help - this might not be the screen-house for you.
The poles are rugged with good shock cords. The bag with the screen-house was generous enough to repack the tent, rain-fly, floor, ropes, stakes, and poles easily.
The whole thing passed with flying colors and really got tested. It survived a tropical storm and an extreme thunderstorm (I have wonderful weather luck) that went through our area while camping. No damage rips or major leaks!

We are very pleased with our screened in tent. High quality and easy to take up and down. Would recommend getting the rain fly and floor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CampingFamilyOfThree Love this screen house!
I had spent several weeks looking for the perfect screen house to use while car camping. Although this item is pricier than other models, the money is well worth it! It assembles easily and quickly. It fits nicely over the federal park picnic tables. It keeps the bugs out well. It weighs very little, but is substantial enough to withstand small gusts of wind. We loved this screen tent! I did not purchase the rain fly, and will likely do so; the slanting roof did not withstand a torrential downpour, but we would not have expected it to do so. We would highly recommend this to any families needing protection from sun and bugs.
