Rated 3 out of 5 by utkgrad101 Needs More Support
I purchased these shoes as I am a TA and do a lot of walking during the day. When i received them I was a bit dissapointed before i even put them on. There is not a whole lot of support at all around the ankle. If you tend to pronate, these are NOT the shoes for you. The area around the ankel are very thin, not thick and therefore not much support at all. I also wear orthotics and those fit well, but I know with the shoe laces that came wtih these they always come untied. You almost cannot double knot at all as there is not enough laces left over. The eyelets on the shoe are really odd as well and makes it look wierd when you lace the shoes. I did wear them to school to test them out but after a day I don't think these are the shoes for me and will be returning them to LL Bean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by theWeezer Great Walking or Hiking Shoe for A Rocky Shore
Great shoes, I wore them to hike along a shoreline with volcanic rock and through streams with brackish water. The shoes performed well on slippery rocks and in the ocean, letting in less sand than my other "water shoes". They were not damaged by the sharp volcanic rock. I rinsed them with water to remove the salt after each use and they dried quickly. They held up well I wore these shoes without socks and I added my New Balance inserts for arch support, as I do with all my athletic shoes. (My comments on fit take this into account). I wear a size 11B and these shoes fit well. These were the best quality shoes I found for hiking a shoreline and water sports. I highly recommend them for this purpose.

Nice looking shoes, but the material is too rough to wear them with bare foot. Too painful to just wear it, stand still, without walking around. Cannot imagine to wear it for any water sports.

I was able to wear these shoes comfortably right away, without any breaking in period. The sole is a little wider than the toe box, which gives me better stability. I only have three toes on one foot
(nasty lawnmower accident) and it affects my balance. These shoes with the wider sole solve that problem, and give me better grip on the pavement or trail. They run true to size. I walked 5.5 miles last weekend with no soreness of any kind, and am looking forward to a lot more use. Thanks LL!

Rated 4 out of 5 by b3ck79 Great for walking, light hiking
These are sold as "multisport" and that fits. They are more like cross trainers than hiking shoes. I was hoping to be able to wear them hiking, at least on less rugged trails, but will limit them to easy walks on dirt or gravel paths - they are not up to rocks or tree roots. They lose 1 star for not working as advertised.
Still, I like them a lot and will wear them on long dog walks, easier hikes and just running errands. They are comfortable right out of the box and fit perfectly.

I purchased these reluctantly, as I don't have a lot of luck buying shoes without trying them on first. These fit like a glove! Very true to size, lightweight and I can tell will be great for wearing when I go kayaking next week! Thank you LL Bean!

Rated 5 out of 5 by AuburnGirl03 Amazing Shoes
I purchased these shoes to go to camping in Maine. These shoes were AMAZING. They were versatile and transition easily from the rocky ground to the lake. When they are wet they are very light and do not weigh down your feet. They dry quickly, as well.
I have found that they are also excellent summer walking shoes because they are breathable and light weight. They did not become smelly when they were wet and wash well if you do not dry them.
They fit true to size; I am a size 9 and they fit perfectly.
I would like to see more colors and with less white on the shoes since they are outdoor shoes and get dirty.

These shoes run true to size and are comfortable. I ordered a 1/2 size up to get the color I wanted (red/gray). They fit and will fit just fine when hiking. The laces are unique so they won't come undone. I still like the bungee laces for water shoes better, though.

Rated 2 out of 5 by BettyinRI Not an ideal fit
When I first wore these, I did not like them at all. Well, I liked the syling, but there was no "ahhh" feeling on my feet when I put them on and there didn't seem ot be much support. Since I really needed some good walking around shoes, I was determined to give them a try. I do admit that I could wear these all day with a lot of walking with no problem. After awhile though, I realized that the next day after wearing them, I would wake up with painful plantar faciitis, which would go away after a day or two, until I wore these again. So, they are going back, and I'll have to find something to replace them. I normally wear a 6.5 wide, so I ordered a 7 and the fit seemed okay. I really liked the extra room in the toe box, but obviously, the fit for me was less than ideal.

I am very satisfied with the pair of multisport shoes I received from LL Bean. The size is a perfect fit and they are very light weight and comfortable. I am in a hot state and I can feel cool air while wearing them to soothe my feet. I received my order in a matter of very few days and they were packed well. I am very happy that I ordered them and am very happy I chose the best company regarding products and how they stand by their products. Thank you very much, I will definately order through you again. The free shipping was a plus as well and helped me to get something I really needed and wanted.
