He can still wear it and finds it amazing that the manufacturer put a serial number in his hat. He values is and is now fearful of the next cleaning. A hat stretcher helped a bit. When in doubt , size up.

I live in rural Vermont and am on the hunt for a better winter hat. I was hopeful that this hat would be a good addition to my winter wardrobe. I wore this outside on the evening that I got it in the mail to move firewood from the barn to the back porch. It was 26 degrees outside and my ears were cold when I came inside after moving a third of a cord of wood. This is not what I expect from a $50 hat. There are serious thin spots in the construction. I switched to my old cahart stocking cap for the second truck load and was rewarded with a little sweat on my brow and warm ears. I will be returning this hat as soon as possible.

áby dickinns Buyer beware
This hat is not for the active type of person. Way to warm. Subzero weather appropriate. Nicest hat I've ever had. Just don't wear it for chopping wood or shoveling snow. However, if you like to sit on the ice and fish, it will soon become your best friend. Order a little larger as you can adjust with the ties in front.

I received this as Christmas present. It has been the best hat I have had. The ear flaps cover your ears just right. With the bitter cold this year I've my head has stayed warm. Another great thing is that it is made in the USA, Michigan.
