Rated 2 out of 5 by heleninalexandria feels like wearing a shag rug
I desperately needed a lighter weight parka after losing my old one. This is not the thing. It's lighter weight in terms of warmth, but weight-wise, it's heavy, and the pile lining somehow makes me feel like I'm wearing a shag rug. Plus the size creep - I've always worn medium in coats from Bean, but I swim in this one, even with layering a fleece or sweater under it. Plus it's shapeless, even with a waist drawstring, and there's no adjustment for the elastic-edged hood.. What's to like? I guess that at least it's medium warmth and it was in stock in February when not a lot is there to choose from..

LOVE this jacket -- or is it a coat?? Happily, it serves as both, and it is great. Soft and comfortable lining, without being bulky and hot. Also really like the way the hood (when needed) is slightly snug around my face, but without having all those strings dangling down that have to be dealt with.

I returned the jacket because I was expecting it to be a deeper royal blue color like illustrated in the catalog. Also, the outer fabric was too noisy for me. The inside fabric was soft and comfortable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MogMog Designed to cover big hips!
I ordered a Petite Large in part because very few of these parkas were available in any other sizes, and in part because I wanted it to zip closed nicely over my 40" chest.
I am 5'2, 150 pounds with narrow back & shoulder, very large bust, short waist. 40-33-44 measurements.
The parka was able to zip closed over my chest, as desired. It doesn't look very good though, because the sleeves seem designed to fit much thicker arms (even accounting for layers and sweaters in winter). And the bottom hem circumference is HUGE.
I live in San Diego and bought the parka to take to Wellington, New Zealand which is renowned for being extremely windy. The weather will be between 65 and 75 degrees, so a big deal winter coat would be too much and this seemed the best compromise. I'm afraid the bottom hem will let in all the drafts...!

Rated 2 out of 5 by HappyBeanCustomer58 Disappointed
I hesitated to purchase this jacket because of some negative reviews, but I wanted to make my own decision. Sure enough, the zipper was difficult to operate, as many reviewers stated. Also, I initially liked the soft lining but as I gently ran my fingers over it I noticed a bit of pilling which I felt would worsen with wear. The colors are pretty and the jacket looks well on. It's a nice weight for early spring. However, since I don't want to deal with ongoing zipper battles, I am returning it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by EmmaP Just what I wanted
First off, a big thanks to others posting their reviews. I've been trying to replace an LL Bean fleece lined lightweight jacket from many years ago in a style that is no longer carried. I debated about the Spring Point Parka but am glad I took the chance. It is just what I was looking for. Lightweight nylon with a super soft warm lining that will be perfect for informal use. I am 5'9", weigh 160 lbs. and ordered a large. It is a little roomy in the shoulders but otherwise fits perfectly. I'm pleased with the interior drawstring, so you can customize a more fitted look although the straight cut is fine with me. I appreciate the gently elasticized cuffs and zippered exterior pockets. The two way zipper is a little tricky and requires some getting used to but I'm sure will be an asset in the long run.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ShopperfromSolon Wonderful Jacket/Coat
This is my second purchase of this wonderful coat! I've used the prior jacket/coat for a year now and still love it so! It has an ultra soft lining that feels so good against my skin. The exterior of the coat is soft and doesn't make a lot of swishing noise.
The jacket/coat is lightweight but warm and can be used until temperatures drop below freezing.
My original coat has worn well over the past year and I probably didn't NEED to buy this new one. Its just such a nice jacket/coat that I wanted to get another color!

This jacket is a lovely color and fabric but a strange cut. It's very flat in the front. I have no boobs to speak of, yet it was very tight across the chest. Too bad cause I loved it otherwise. Sent it back.
