Rated 5 out of 5 by judysme great fit
loved this jacket so much I ordered another one in another color. Fits great. I work in a store that is very cool in the winter. This jacket fits well over my long-sleeve shirts and is very warm and very comfortable. Hoping to order another one in the blue color.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Quilter2013 Love this jacket
I love this jacket. This is the second one I have owned. The zipper gave out on the first after 7-8 years. The original jacket had two BLACK mesh front pockets and two BLACK stretch inside pockets. In the new jacket they are off-white. I wish they were BLACK. When you are walking with the jacket unzipped, you see the off-white pockets and feel like you have picked up a 'hitch-hiker'. Otherwise, I love this jacket.

Absolutely love this jacket. Keeps you so warm, the wind resistance is amazing and keeps you warmer then a regular fleece jacket. I only wish they offered it in more colors. If they did, I would buy more.

I love this jacket. It has a great fit that is not too fitting and not too relaxed. The fabric is great, and it has a flattering shape. My only complaints are nit-picky. I don't like that the pockets are made of mesh, and I wish there was a secret, internal chest pocket. Even with those two wishes, I love this jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by redwingsfan238 Warmer than expected
I was pleasantly surprised by how warm this jacket is. I was recently in Boston and this jacket was the only one I had packed. A cold front came through with temperatures dropping from high-50s to high 30s, low 40s with a wicked cold wind blowing. Even with just a t-shirt underneath, I was still warm enough.

Rated 3 out of 5 by llbeanershopaholic Nice jacket, but overpriced
I like this jacket. It is lightweight and comfortable and the sleeve length is just right. Usually LL Bean jackets' sleeve lengths are a bit short on my arms. I would have given this coat a 5 star but for the price. I think it is worth half the price as listed. It needs a good layer underneath to be considered 'warm.' I think there are other Bean jackets for this price that are much nicer with a better quality make. As far as sizing, it is pretty accurate.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MsDoolittle Very warm, odd fit
Just got this in today. The material is definitely warm and cozy, and I liked the color (the dark brown) and the design very much. What I did not care for at all was the way the zipper hit my chest. It was like someone was pressing into my breastbone. The zipper seemed to slope in towards my chest just at that point. The collar height was wonderful, but because the material is quite stiff, it was uncomfortable for me. I have sensitive skin and anything that rubs drives me nuts! I think the fit was just fine. I am 5' 4" and 125# and got the small. It was a little loose, but still fitted enough to not look sloppy. I think if I had bought the XS, the sleeves may not have been long enough. I was happy with the sleeve length and where it fell at the hip.
Still, I think that many people would love this jacket, it simply isn't for me. I am going to try a softer fleece next go-round.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tik82 I think I tried on EVERY fleece jacket at LLB!
And this was the winner! It is more than just a fleece jacket. It has layers in between the fleece that hold out the cold/ keep in the warmth.
I nearly got the one with the hood, but when I compared the prices, it didn't seem worth it to me, when I could get a thick knitted cap instead.
One thing I disliked were the colors.....all were dark and "blah". I ended up getting red ( a different shade, apparently, than what I see here----more of a true red).
It is comfortable, very warm, and large enough to hold other layers underneath it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LRosie Does the job! Great buy!
I bought this specifically for riding my bike on those days in NW Michigan where the wind cuts through any amount of layers. Just got it, got on my bike on what may be one of our last biking days and this jacket was perfect! Blocked the wind, the fact that it is fleece makes it very moveable in. I know that some days the wind will be strong but it won't be that cold, so I have now bought the wind challenger fleece vest. I bought the plum wine/dark raspberry color which is pretty and also stands out on a bike in both the jacket and vest. I am a small usually and the small fits so that I can have a thin techno shirt or thin sweater underneath. The side pockets are good sized. I have not owned these long, so I cannot speak to durability except that just about all the llbean products I buy are very durable. I strongly recommend this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by IslandCityJ Great jacket!
I bought this jacket to replace a "squall jacket" that had lasted for about 20 years. I just wanted a lightweight, warm jacket that was also windproof. When I received it, I was really concerned--it looks like a simple fleece jacket (e.g., warm but not windproof). There is a layer of waterproofing/windproofing under the fleece, apparently.
I am so pleased! It is warm, the pockets are soft and reachable from outside & inside, the waist cinches to further exclude drafts.
Glad I read the reviews, though--I normally wear about an XL, and ordered a M. It fits snugly but not tight, just perfect.
