Time Outside is a Gift

And Our Partners Help Us Share it With Everyone

Every year, the holidays teach us that it’s better to give than receive. And we’re lucky enough to work with charitable partners who share this lesson with the world all year long. We’re proud to help them create a more accessible and inclusive outdoors by building new green spaces, protecting our environment, and providing outdoor access to under-resourced communities.

Let’s take a look back at all the good we were able to achieve in 2021.

The National Park Foundation

Our work with the National Park Foundation helps make national parks more accessible and approachable for everybody. Through our support of the Find Your Park / Encuentra Tu Parque movement, we’re helping people discover lesser-known parks closer to home; and here in Maine, our support of Friends of Acadia and Katahdin Woods & Waters National Monument make it easier for people to access and explore these parks in our backyard.

The Trust for Public Land

Our partners at The Trust for Public Land work with communities to ensure every person can experience the many benefits of the outdoors. Since the start of our partnership, we’ve worked on nine projects together (with more on the horizon), helping communities plan, design, and create parks, playgrounds, gardens, and trails – like the new student-run garden and greenhouse on the campus of West Side High in Newark, NJ.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Drawing from over 260 years of collective expertise, L.L.Bean and Boys & Girls Clubs of America are working together to break through the socioeconomic, geographic and environmental barriers that prevent young people from interacting with the natural world around them. Together, we’re developing a new outdoor curriculum – The Outdoor Recreation Playbook – to help millions of kids recognize the outdoors as a great place to learn, play and grow.
