I use this tool while on the water as a hook holder while tying flies to my tippet. Being "chronologically gifted" requires magnifiers to thread 7x tippet through #26 hooks with a firn steady UNMOVING base. This tool does just that and it releases easily. For almost all my flies the junior works well and secures the fly with ease.
Worth the money and lack of frustration.

When your fingers are old and cold tying hooks on can be hard to do right. The Ty-Rite makes it much easier. These were gifts for my kids.

The Ty-Rite Jr. is one of the best accessories to have in your vest. This makes tying on a #18 Midge quick and effortlessly. I'm not sure how I did it in the past. It also allows you to tie dry flies without putting unnecessary pressure on the wings and/or body. I highly recommend this to all fly fishermen.

Makes changing your fly much easier, especially as eyes grow older and fingers get less flexible. Also lessened the number of hooks in my thumb. Highly recommended!

Comparable to tying flies in a vise, vs. holding hook in hand. It delivers what's claimed.

I'm still moving between palomar and the clinch/improved clinch/reverse clinch as to what will be my "all the time" knot...but this little gadget makes the handling of the fly and tippet MUCH easier.
compact, stores well, easy to use, lowers frustration....why not? I've enjoyed mine.

These make tying on a fly a lot easier for my old fingers. I had lost my first pair and suffered for awhile until I replaced them. There are lots of gadgets out there for tying knots -- but in my book, this is the best. Holding the hook in place while tying the knot by hand is what it does best. I have both sizes, use them all the time, and I highly recommend them.
