Rated 5 out of 5 by lovePortlandME Finally a pair of jeans that fit!
It has been a long time since a pair of LL Bean jeans fit me and these are perfect! I'm somewhat pear shaped and did well with the classic fit in a size smaller than usual. (The favorite fit in my usual size was also good, but I liked the higher waist on the classic fit.) I'm going to stock up.

These pants fit great except they were supposed to be 32" long and were only 31 1/2". I would have loved to have that extra half inch but it wasn't so bad that I would go to the trouble to return them. However, next time I will order the Tall.

For an apple-shaped woman (gut expands, hips and thighs not so much) partly-spandex jeans with slim legs sound great. But I can barely button these jeans at the waist, while the legs are not all that slim.
I'm scared that after washing, they'll shrink and I won't be able to button them at all!
Some years ago, Bean had a great jean for apple types. But not naow!

Up 'til now my favorite jeans have been the Favorite Fit True Shape Boot Cut style. I am 5'5", 116 pounds, slender build, and size 2 regular fits very well. I wanted a different look and tried the 1912 straight leg jeans which are a little too big in the seat/upper thigh area. Plus I didn't like the fading, especially in the seat area. Had to return them. Then I spotted the Favorite Fit True Shape Slim Leg jeans on line, but was concerned about the legs being too tight (I read the reviews by other customers). Despite my concern I ordered three pair in different colors (faded, rinsed and stonewashed) in size 4 regular (heeding other reviewers' warning that this style runs a little small). THEY FIT PERFECTLY, ARE VERY COMFORTABLE, AND LOOK GREAT IN ALL THREE COLORS (although the stonewashed is my favorite). I love, love these jeans and am so thrilled that the leg width is not an issue for me. I highly recommend these jeans! LL Bean - you are the best!

Rated 3 out of 5 by TGWNLPCAL Different fits
This is the second time I have ordered these jeans and I would give them a 5 star rating except for the fact that I have to order 4 of the same pants every time to find one pair that fits correctly. For some reason the black jeans are substantially smaller than the blue jeans in the waist. I measured and it is anywhere from a 1 1/2" to 2" difference. That is the difference between comfort and being pinched in the waist. I love the quality and the styling if they could just do something about consistency in the fit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MANana Wrong labeled size
I have these jeans in stonewashed and love them so I ordered them in black. Although they say they are "Regular", the inseam is the Petite size. I kept thinking it was me and they seemed short and finally tape measured them with the denim ones and they are almost 2 inches shorter. Obviously a labeling mistake (the sewed in label says Regular) so I am returning them. At least of all my purchases this is the first time this has happened to me.

I bought these black jeans and then the regular indigo jeans. The black jeans shrunk in length much more than the indigo making them unwearable. And,I agree with the gapping comments. They stretch out at the waist must faster.

I ordered my first pair of True Shape Slim Leg jeans a few weeks ago and I absolutely love them....and I'll be ordering more. I'm tall with very slender legs and find it difficult to find jeans that REALLY fit. These are the best jeans ever! Thanks L.L. Bean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by readerwalker 2nd try; still didn't work
I originally purchased a pair and reviewed them in Nov. 2013 but had to return those. This time I paid more attention to reviews and went up in size (from 4 to 6 MT. I am 5'7", 120 lbs.). Tried them on and fit was somewhat loose around waist, but not loose enough to need belt. Legs not sqeezingly tight as were size 4. Looked good standing there looking in mirror, husband liked the look also. But I decided to wear them around for awhile before removing tags and take notes on how they felt. The waist gapped at the back when I sat. Each time I stood up I would have to either shake out my legs to get the jeans leg to fall down, or else I had to use my hands to smooth them down. Most pants I have fall naturally when I stand, but these seem to cling somewhat, but not tightly. Decided to walk around the block to see how the jeans worked when being more active. Unfortunately the legs seemed to move up and cling around the knees when walking, necessitating pushing them down. I felt as though the jeans were wearing me, not me wearing them. Am not sure if because they are not 100% (or almost) cotton makes them clingy in the legs. The pair I bought were black. I think the 1912 jeans fit better, but sadly they don't come in black. I returned this pair and will not try these again - too much elastic and not enough cotton I guess. Fabric is lightweight which is okay in the south. Double L jeans are more substantial but look like more for work than "play." I would recommend these to a friend, but with the above reservations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OutdoorsyDesigner Granny goes straight leg!
At 60, my buddies and I commiserate about how hard it is to find jeans. Skinny jeans make us look like Tweedledum, and the old-school, high-waisted jeans are impossible to wear without evoking images from the SNL "Mom Jeans" video.
I've been wearing boot cuts, but they're even starting to look retro.
After a friend got a pair of these, I tried them, and love them.
Also purchased the 1912 classic fit slim leg, and love them, too.
The key is "Classic Fit" - the cut with the highest waist without being full-on Mom Jeans.
They're modern, but are cut high enough to avoid "plumber butt" when gardening and are stretchy enough to be completely comfortable for activities that require a wide range of movement. Thanks, L.L.Bean!
