I have these jeans in stonewashed and love them so I ordered them in black. Although they say they are "Regular", the inseam is the Petite size. I kept thinking it was me and they seemed short and finally tape measured them with the denim ones and they are almost 2 inches shorter. Obviously a labeling mistake (the sewed in label says Regular) so I am returning them. At least of all my purchases this is the first time this has happened to me.

I bought these black jeans and then the regular indigo jeans. The black jeans shrunk in length much more than the indigo making them unwearable. And,I agree with the gapping comments. They stretch out at the waist must faster.

I ordered my first pair of True Shape Slim Leg jeans a few weeks ago and I absolutely love them....and I'll be ordering more. I'm tall with very slender legs and find it difficult to find jeans that REALLY fit. These are the best jeans ever! Thanks L.L. Bean.

Rated 4 out of 5 by readerwalker 2nd try; still didn't work
I originally purchased a pair and reviewed them in Nov. 2013 but had to return those. This time I paid more attention to reviews and went up in size (from 4 to 6 MT. I am 5'7", 120 lbs.). Tried them on and fit was somewhat loose around waist, but not loose enough to need belt. Legs not sqeezingly tight as were size 4. Looked good standing there looking in mirror, husband liked the look also. But I decided to wear them around for awhile before removing tags and take notes on how they felt. The waist gapped at the back when I sat. Each time I stood up I would have to either shake out my legs to get the jeans leg to fall down, or else I had to use my hands to smooth them down. Most pants I have fall naturally when I stand, but these seem to cling somewhat, but not tightly. Decided to walk around the block to see how the jeans worked when being more active. Unfortunately the legs seemed to move up and cling around the knees when walking, necessitating pushing them down. I felt as though the jeans were wearing me, not me wearing them. Am not sure if because they are not 100% (or almost) cotton makes them clingy in the legs. The pair I bought were black. I think the 1912 jeans fit better, but sadly they don't come in black. I returned this pair and will not try these again - too much elastic and not enough cotton I guess. Fabric is lightweight which is okay in the south. Double L jeans are more substantial but look like more for work than "play." I would recommend these to a friend, but with the above reservations.

At 60, my buddies and I commiserate about how hard it is to find jeans. Skinny jeans make us look like Tweedledum, and the old-school, high-waisted jeans are impossible to wear without evoking images from the SNL "Mom Jeans" video.
I've been wearing boot cuts, but they're even starting to look retro.
After a friend got a pair of these, I tried them, and love them.
Also purchased the 1912 classic fit slim leg, and love them, too.
The key is "Classic Fit" - the cut with the highest waist without being full-on Mom Jeans.
They're modern, but are cut high enough to avoid "plumber butt" when gardening and are stretchy enough to be completely comfortable for activities that require a wide range of movement. Thanks, L.L.Bean!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Greatings Best jeans ever but would love them in colors
These are the best fitting pants I have. I am very small, and it's hard to find pants that fit without being too low cut around waist or too big in the legs. I am a teacher, and we are not allowed to wear Jeans except on Fridays. I wish you'd consider making these in other colors. I love the black but with spring coming in, would love to have these in lighter colors. PLEASE make in colors!

Rated 3 out of 5 by SWesterner Odd twisting of the garment when worn
I am wearing these jeans as I write this, so even though I'm not fond of them, they are adequate for work and I have had them too long to return them (they have also been washed repeatedly). They fit and look fine, but I've noticed that whenever I wear them I am constantly having to twist the waistband back to center. I can only assume this has to do with the fabric being cut on a slight bias, at least on one side. I didn't notice it immediately, but after rotating through all the pairs of jeans in my drawer, this one is obviously different. Upon closer inspection, I found that the left leg inseam tends to migrate a bit forward. I also don't care for the rough stitching on the back of the waistband, but that is a finishing detail that I can cope with. I hope others have had better luck with fit.

I feel that someone designed these just for me! Finally, jeans that come up to my waist, are curvy enough that there's no gap at the waistband, and are slim enough to be fashionable. These have enough stretch to be very comfortable and so far have only stretched out a little during wear, but not enough to feel or look baggy. Love the dark rinse, but have only worn them twice, so I don't yet know how color-fast they are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rubies Love these Straight Leg jeans
Thank goodness I discovered your True Shape Jeans. I ran to the Evergreen Walk store in CT on my lunch hour just recently and purchased 2 pairs of the Boot Cut jeans and later purchased the Straight-leg online. I was so pleased to finally find great fitting, well-made and comfortable jeans. I'm short waisted so these fit me fine. Although others said they fit into their usual size, I had to size up, but that doesn't bother me because it's just a tag. I would love to see both styles in paperwhite for the spring, summer and fall. They would look great with my LL Bean shirts and sweaters. I like that they are not loaded with spandex making them lose their shape after wearing, and just looking plain sloppy. With the 2% spandex, they fit great. I forgot what it was like to wear nice jeans. I love them so much that I wear them now to the office with my sweaters and dress shoes and I am so happy. Thank you for making comfortable and well-made jeans. My search for the perfect jeans is over.

Rated 3 out of 5 by GeoAlb Different color - different fit!
I'm a long time Bean customer but have had problems with fit of traditional jeans recently so thought I'd try slim leg/stretch variety. Ordered 6 P stonewashed and am pretty happy with fit. Decided to get another pair in black and they fit entirely differently! Legs very tight - like tights or leggings. They are going back.
