áby CB1919 Very pleased
See that chair on the right? Last night I was gently rocking there, sipping a chilled Sauvignon Blanc while taking in the moon, stars, probably a few planets, and fireflies flitting around the deck. I cannot remember feeling so content.
I think the chairs look beautiful, especially paired with the Sunbrella cushions and small side table. Assembly took two patient people, the second one went together a little smoother than the first. We are very happy. Thank you.

We just put together our two Presidential Rockers. They went together easily and it was nice that they came with the necessary tool. I looked at many, many websites trying to avoid spending this much money for 2 rocking chairs. However, the LL Bean rockers were the only ones that didn't come with a long list of complaints about how they would not go together and new holes had to be drilled or even that the product needed to be returned. I always read reviews, which is why I am bothering to write this one. Anyway, in the end I opted for the product reliability of LL Bean. I'm so glad I did because the chairs are roomy and surprisingly comfortable. They certainly seem like they will last for a long, long time. If they don't, I'll be writing another review! It's good feeling that I got what I paid for.

Rated 1 out of 5áby Panini A long-wanted item that let us down in many ways
When we bought our big victorian house on an island, it had porches everywhere, and I went right to LLBean to get the classic rocker as one of my first purchases. That it was labeled as ecologically desirable was a bonus. It arrived, as with most LLBean orders, quickly, and we unpacked it and put it on the porch--and went for a rock. It did raise alarm--it is very plastic-y, even if it is recycled, and as with many plastic-y things, the connectors did not seem entirely secure. And within a week or two, the armrest on one side simply could not be attached--not good. When we contacted LLBean they were quick in sending us a new left side in replacement; we fitted it--but again, the connectors popped, and frankly, we were too discouraged to complain again. It still sits there, but as a purely decorative piece, and I would never recommend it. Twice unlucky? perhaps. (We have no big or little family members who would have abused it--). I would stay away from this, though I still love LLbean.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Rose1 The Rockers are Ready to Roll
Bottom line: they are beautiful and we are so pleased . We considered this rocker for a couple of years, but the price seemed too steep. In the mean time we had more than one set of metal patio furniture rot in place on our deck, near the ocean. (When we picked up the table top of the last set we had, the legs literally fell off before we could get the whole sorry mess off the deck and to the dump).
We finally decided to invest in these guaranteed-for-life rockers. The first one looked so great when we set it up that we bought a second rocker and matching table to nestle between them. OK, the set up took a bit of effort, but reading the directions (correctly!) made all the difference in getting a final great fit and look. (When thought we were having problems with the set up, we had immediate and courteous LL. Bean Service). Now that the rockers are in place all we need to do is cut back on the work and get on with retirement!

Chairs arrived for Mother's Day but could not be put together because the screw holes did not line-up. What a hassle to have to box the parts back up to return them. Disappointed.

It will NOT. MATCH MY CURRENT 349 dollar chair VERY disappointed because you still make it in green and white

Rated 5 out of 5áby gardens98 The color combination change in the rocking chair?
Just wondering why the change in color combination of the black rocking chair? Last year, I purchased two black chairs with the brown cushion combination. I am ready to purchase two more but the color combination has been adjusted to black with black. This does not work for my color scheme. Is there a way to order the black chair frame with the brown cushion set?

Last year I bought this chair in black and was so excited to be able to use it inside and out. It is very comfortable and everyone in the family likes to sit in it. This year I was looking forward to adding another one to match, and they changed the style to all black! I know it will be functional and comfortable, but they would look silly on the patio together! I thought I could count on the traditional style from llBean. The other colors are the same style. Why the change in black?

I'm hovering between being absolutely furious and very, very happy.
Last year I purchased a black chair with a brownish back and seat. At the time I purchased the $349.00 chair I commented that it would be more striking in solid back. I have been saving my coupons and gift cards, planning to purchase a matching chair this spring.
Just looked at the website, only to find that NOW the black chair is SOLID black. So, now if I purchase a 2nd black chair, they WON'T match. $700.00 WORTH OF CHAIRS...THAT DON'T MATCH....This explains the absolutely furious part.
The very, very happy part is that the chair IS available in all black-which if I had known was coming, I would have waited and purchased 2 together, since all of my patio furniture is solid black.
This means I have to think twice about the second purchase.

First rate product. Outstanding in nearly every regard - quality, shipping & customer service. Assembly - All screws had to be lined up and loosely threaded (like a pilot hole) before being tightened in succession. Even with the allen wrench that was provided, it was a cinch to assemble.
