Although this is basically a cotton shirt, it has the feel and lightness of being all synthetic. It's not the Henley you may be used to wearing for warmth, at least not in the Pacific Northwest.

I wore my Waffle Knit tee for the first time a few weeks ago and thought it was a good buy, but I just made a terrible mistake by drying it in the dryer on the delicate cycle. Not good. I should have known...even if the tag states you can dry it on low, if it's a 100% cotton, don't do it. It was only in for 30 minutes on the lowest dry level and now it's too short and probably too tight. My bad!

I got one of these in the size XL petite in the color Wisteria Blue. It has a bit of stretch to it and hangs nicely and looks good. I'm not sure what the difference is between the regular size and the petite size (sleeve length tends to be the main difference) but it fits just fine and the sleeves are not too long for me for a change!
Thanks again for a good price on a great item L.L. Bean!

Rated 1 out of 5 by dobs Too bad they skimped!
I really liked the look and feel of this shirt, but they paired 100% cotton with a synthetic velveteen binding at the neck, so when you use a cotton setting to iron the shirt (because it shrinks so much you have to iron it back to size) it melts the binding and makes it scratchy on your neck! I picked a Large instead of Medium, because it's not the first LL Bean shirt that shrank, but it mainly shrinks vertically so the underarms are baggy.
My suggestion would be to use a cotton binding at the neck and pre-shrink the cotton.

Rated 2 out of 5 Too much shrinkage, for short-average height women
I am giving up on L. L. Bean cotton henleys and shirts. In the first place, they shrink quite a bit. In the 2nd place, they need to make their shirts longer or offer "tall." My daughter is 5'9" and she can't wear any of their shirts. I'm only 5'7", and I can't wear them either. So basically if you are 5'5" or less, this Henley is nice. Otherwise, I'd strongly discourage you from purchasing it or any other cotton knit tops.

I ordered 2 more of these shirts (for my mom) because I loved them. They're warm and even after washing a couple of times, it kept its shape very well. Loved them !!

I loved the colors, style, and fabric. Unfortunately it did not last. The first time I tried this shirt on, it fit well. By the time it had been washed the second time, it seemed to fall from it's shape. Several months later, the sleeves have shrunk up past my wrists (I'm 5'7") and the body is about 2" shorter. It has also appeared to become a boxy shape. Very disappointed in the wear of this shirt.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kmseeger22 Really upset that this shirt shrunk!!!
I second another reviewer in saying that this shirt shrunk substantially on the first wash and dry!! I do not love it anymore as the length is now just a bit too short and unflattering. The sleeves did not shrink and the color (lilac) is still beautiful. I washed it in cold and dried on medium which I do for all of our shirts from Beans. Really disappointed. Will be donating this shirt. With the quality and price I usually get from LL Bean, I would not expect to worry about shrinkage.

I have been waiting for this exact shirt, and as soon as I spotted it, I bought the Paperwhite and the Heather Gray. Now, if you'd just get the Wisteria Blue and the Beeswax back in stock in Medium, I'd order those as well!

I was thrilled with the quality of this waffle-knit Henley. True to size fit, won't stretch out like other waffle-knits due to the bit of spandex in the fabric. Mid-weight so it keeps you nice & toasty warm, but not too hot. I was worried this might be too fitted for me, but it's perfect. Loose enough to cover that bit of tummy I need to cover, provides great coverage, but doesn't look big & baggy in the least. I will only buy this waffle-knit Henley from now on.
