In Wisconsin, shoveling/blowing snow is cold work. LINED choppers a good replacement for my worn out unlined mitts. Usual quick, very good LLB service!

I bought these leather mittens for my husband for Valentine's Day. We had been looking for leather mittens for men, and found them to be a bit difficult to come by. We ordered the mitts from LLBean in the dark brown, and they are awesome. The leather is soft and supple, and the liner is warm. My husband loves the bit of gathering at the back of the mitt--this little bit of tension helps to keep the mitt in place. He has a pair of suede mitts that do not have this feature, and they tend to slip forward on his hands. The liner is not as warm as his other mitts, which have a very soft fleece lining, but they are warm enough for most Minnesota winter days. Overall, the LLBean leather mitts are a great buy--at a price much lower than the few other pairs of mitts we found for men. Would definately recommend these!

Living in Michigan I felt the need for some heavy duty mittens to keep my hands warm when I snow blow my driveway. Last weekend I used them when I was snow blowing. The temp was about 10 degrees & they worked fine. The tips of my fingers were a little cold, but I clenched my hands into a ball & they immediately warmed up. By the time I was done, my hands were sweating. I usually wear an XL in gloves & these XL mittens were a perfect fit.

Spent the last three days digging out from record blizzard in New England--two feet and more of snow, 70mph wind gusts. In my new Wood Chopper Mitts hands are perfectly toasty no matter how long I'm out there. Well worth the price! Now how about LLB making something for my aching back?

These are sick gloves/mittens. Don't let the simplicity and lack of new textiles fool you; these work. My hands are always warm no matter what temp and/or with windchill. They actually get sweat eventually...I'll take it over numbness anytime. Very durable so well worth the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ohbegrey Choppers run small
i can comment only on size and quality at this time: quality appears to be the usual llbean, ie: excellent. the sizing on the choppers runs small--i am keeping the size M for myself and reordering up one size for my husband, although we ordered by the size chart measurements.
we have been shopping at llbean for nearly 40 years--the quality of the products continues to be well above average, as is the service, and the people are always wonderful to deal with. 3 cheers for llbean!!

Look and feel great. My son wanted gloves but still loves these mittens. Hasn't really tested them yet but they seem very well made. Good fit too.
