These Tee's live up to the "carefree unshrinkable" tag. They are very sturdy, and I'm sure durable. But, apparently the treatment used to make them so also makes them non-absorbent and not very breathable; takes the cotton qualities out of the cotton. End result is, when worn in warm, humid weather, you'll feel more sweaty than usual. The shirt won't absorb (much) or wick.
I'll keep mine to wear in the spring and fall only.

This shirt achieves its properties with a chemical that renders the cotton more like a synthetic. Try mopping up water with it, and compare it to plain old cotton. Worn, it is less breathable and amplifies body odors in the way that a synthetic tee does. Oh, right, it doesn't wrinkle or fade. It'll last forever, too -- mine sits in a drawer. The Adirondack tee is much better.

The neck openings on these shirts is smaller than the shirts we ordered last year. My husband feels like he's choking with these new ones. Unfortunately we are sending them back.

Rated 5 out of 5áby GaryinNC Great Shirts!
After years of wearing other name brand t-shirts I tried a couple of these.
The best, most comfortable shirt I have ever worn!
They last a long time and get better with age.
Wash on warm or cold and the color holds up well.
All my other brands of T-shirts are now used as shop rags...lol!
For the last couple of years these are the only T I have bought and have a drawer full.

Bought these a few months ago. Soft and comfortable like the write-up says, but the "Butter" colored tee has faded after just a few washes and is now not wearable

Rated 4 out of 5áby Justabubba Runs large for me.
I was excited to see this shirt in a tall medium which is usually very hard to find in any brand. Most tall sizes start at large and are way too big for my very tall slender body. I am 6'7 195 lbs and I SWIM in this shirt. I wish now it did shrink! I do love the feel of the fabric and if it fit I'm sure would be quite happy. For the expense and the trouble to return it I have just decided to give it to someone who can use it.

Have two of these and expecting a third. Really nice shirt, just as they indicated. They don't shrink and fit great. The thing I am most impressed with is that water just beads up and runs off. I didn't expect this, I don't know how long this will last, but was pleasantly surprised!

Rated 1 out of 5áby IL2SatBean Not cool. Literally!
This used to be a favorite T but the fabric treatment has made the shirt uncomfortable. As another reviewer said "slimy". The sweat stays inside the shirt and running down your body. It also shrinks in length, but I think the slimy factor is worse!
Still wearing my old worn out ones. The difference is regrettable.

Rated 5 out of 5áby TheWoodsman Great Quality Shirt
I ordered two of these shirts fairly recently and they are both great! The quality of the shirts is very good and they fit fine. I'm 6'4", 200lbs and an XL works fine.
I'll definitely be ordering more of these and the colors are great.
Thanks L.L. Bean!!

Just got my gun metal grey Tee w/pocket and wish I had didn't. Lousy gun metal color. Too blue-grey looking. YUK. Hate blue/grey. It's the worst of the "greys". Darker, more natural-looking grey would have been better. Also, not crazy about the finish. A bit shiny. Not very flattering. I noticed Bean offers some T's in a heather material/finish. Not too many color choices, however. Some dark colors like black, charcoal and navy, perhaps. The heather may be a better choice than those that are not. Got a black Tee coming that was back ordered. Not looking forward to it's arrival. Nice too see the Tees are made with some length but I think they're still a bit too long.
