Lori Jean Kinsey - TIN MOUNTAIN CONSERVATION CENTER
Inspiring a generation of environmental stewards
With a love of nature matched only by her passion for teaching, Lori Jean Kinsey has been inspiring the next generation of outdoor stewards for the past 25 years. Through her work at the Tin Mountain Conservation Center, she has developed outdoor education programs that have reached countless children in and around the Mt. Washington Valley of New Hampshire. Rather than single class visits or occasional field trips, Lori Jean's teaching philosophy is one of sustained, hands-on contact throughout the school year that establishes a sense of curiosity that lives on long after the classes have ended. The number of students reached through her programs—over 30,000 so far—is impressive. More impressive are the many students who have gone on to careers in environmental education, forestry and environmental law. Lori Jean does not just teach about conservation, she inspires our future outdoor stewards.
