Thomas Kerr - WILDLANDS CONSERVANCY
A long history of education, advocacy and conservation
For almost 20 years, Thomas Kerr led the Wildlands Conservancy, a conservation organization based in eastern Pennsylvania. During this tenure, Thomas inspired countless children and adults through his "teaching by doing" philosophy. He is responsible for starting educational excursions, such as the Lehigh River Sojourn, a multi-day canoe and whitewater rafting trip designed to teach participants about the river. Similarly, Thomas established the Lehigh River Water Trail—allowing paddlers to access safe points along the river through an easy-to-use map and interactive web site.
By passing on his love of the outdoors and exposing community leaders to the wonders of nature, Thomas has helped create outdoor opportunities for generations to come.
