Rated 2 out of 5 by OcalaLawyerChick Too Small for actual use but really nice
This pet blanket is beautiful! I would love to be able to keep it. But it's too small for actual use. I hope that LL Bean is following these reviews and makes this pet blanket another 8" to 10" longer. It's too small to use on a couch even ordering the XL. I really wanted to use it on 1/2 of a king size bed, but it's way too small for that. Maybe they can make a XXL for use on a bed or long couch. Please LLBean make this longer!!!!

This tiny - even though I bought the Large. If your pet sits in the exact same spot every time, then may be it would work. It is does not stay put on the sofa either. For the pricing, I was very disappointed and have sent it back.

Love the 2 sides to this blanket - perfect for year round use. Both sides feel made with quality materials and the fleece side is really cozy!! My dog has better a blanket than me but that makes me happy. I plan to buy more for the couch and the car.

Rated 4 out of 5 by YellowOrangeRed prefer the previous berber fleece
I have a pair of the previous model, with berber fleece on one side instead of this silky, slippery fleece. With the berber fleece, my dogs clearly prefer the fleece side over the denim side. But with the current model hey do not like the slippery side and avoid these blankets unless the denim side is up.
My dogs vote: LLBean, please go back to the berber fleece!
On the plus side, I wanted the second pair because these blankets are a good weight, good size, easily washable, attractive. I use them on top of crate pads to make dog beds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LabEnthusiast Diva Lab Loves This Blanket
My 90 lb back lab is a total diva--as in, he likes feather beds and faux fur blankets. I got him last year's version of the L.L. Bean dog blanket and he barely acknowledged it; I ended up using it as a doormat. But this blanket? He loves this thing. I got him the extra-large size in orange.
Lately, he's been using the blanket as a little pillow (created by folding it up over itself about three times). But he also just loves lying on it. Probably not a good blanket for tough chewers, but great for all the prima donna doggies out there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SweetSammysMOM Nice blanket but not fleece
I have a therapeutic bed I bought years ago (it has held up well, no deterioration like the poly-fill beds). That cover is a canvas twill bottom with a fleece top, so I assumed this would be the same thing. I was surprised when I got it. It's not fleece, but a soft velvet acrylic type material. It's very very smooth and soft. I wasn't sure what to think, but I tried it out (I placed it on top of her bed). She loves the velvet acrylic side. Loves it. Because of the twill backside and batting inside, it's very heavy, and my other dog can't dig and ball it up like he can with regular blankets (he likes to make his own bed surface if he knows he can). The other side is a heavy twill material, but I can guess that eventually the diamond thread quilted stitching will come undone. Because it's so heavy, it lays flat and doesn't move (if you have the twill side down). It's pricy, but it's a good blanket and washes very well. Because of the price, I won't buy another one until maybe Christmas.

by LabLover2288 great quality but monogramming coming undone
We got this blanket to celebrate our lab's 1st birthday, in hopes that he could have it for his whole life. We purchased the size large in orange and had it monogrammed with his name, Molson Ice, in brown thread. I think the quality is nice, but I wish it were a bit larger given the high price. We have the large therapeutic dog bed in orange as well, and this barely covers the bed but does look nice with it. After repeated washings after bloody marrow bones and various treats he carries to his bed, this still looks nice. The monogramming, however, is starting to come undone (loose threads) because our dog clawed at it. I don't see that lasting very long, but the blanket itself is high quality and I'd recommend it for your dog.

Love! Love! Love! These are great!! I love the basic colors, especially the pinenut ! It matches everything and is so soft and plush. I have not washed them yet but I am expecting they will be ok, just follow the instructions!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Lolly123 Velvety top for pet blanket not a good idea!
I ordered this blanket to cover my ottoman and protect its fabric from my cats who lie on it. Last summer I'd ordered a wonderful pet blanket from L.L. Bean. It was a lovely beige and green plaid. It was hefty, and its fleece was very sturdy and of good quality. It is on an outside swing on our porch and it holds up through everything. This one is velvety, and I think it was already returned once because there are claw marks in it though I haven't even used it. I believe this will not hold up well and am returning it, and I'm joining the chorus of those writing reviews who are calling for the return of the old pet blankets!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Elizabethinchicago Excellent quality and decent looking for the couch
This pet blanket was the only one that worked for us. I ordered this item in extra-large pine nut color. I have a 30 lb mini poodle lab mix. She is active and likes to snuggle on my beautiful leather couch. We bought the pet blanket to protect my couch for everyday use. I love it. It looks put together and works for our pet and for us. The quilted side is soft and silky and she likes to snuggle on it. The canvas side is better for warmer weather use. I tuck the edges into the back and side of the couch cushion and it stays put and protects my beautiful couch without looking tacky or being uncomfortable for my dog or for us. Well worth the money. Washes well. Best pet blanket I have found with durability and good looks.
