This jacket is overpriced, but the value is all in the fabric.
It's lightweight, sturdy, soft and with a flattering drape. The cut, unlike some LLB jackets, is excellent, long and spacious enough.
The contrast zipper and bright colors give a nautical feeling. Nice to see these true colors instead of the oddball muddier shades often featured.
The problem is basically this is a quality jacket, but it's ruined by tacky features like the leather "sliders". It is awkward and difficult to adjust cords, which are like thin shoestrings. The obvious thing to use would be those plastic things that are usually on LLB hoods and waist, that pinch and grab a sturdy but thin cord.
These leather sliders are tacky looking and I am still considering returning, even though I have not worn the jacket (but in the house). If it were a 50 dollar jacket, I could accept it and devise my own fasteners.
Another odd thing, LLB sewed a square label with their name and stuff on the outside, on the pocket. Stupid looking completely. This is NOT the LLB logo and not the subtle embroidery in matching color. It's a square thing just sewn on that almost makes it look like the jacket is inside out. They also don't show it in the catalog, you find out when you get it.
The material and color are the foundations of a great jacket. Then they ruin it with unattractive and hard to manage details. How did this get off the drawing board without further review?

Love this lightweight jacket for in between seasons! Great orange color and the rain beaded up and fell off. Dried quickly and is roomy! I ordered a large and it was perfect for my 5''9", size 14 frame. Thanks for the large pockets with a velour closure. Great jacket!

This is the first item I've ordered from LLBean that I felt was not up to their customary standards. The detailing seemed tacky and the overall styling and fit was not to my liking. The one good thing about it was the color. I really wanted a red jacket, and this looked and sounded perfect in the catalog. I was disappointed to have to do it, but back it went.

The jacket was nice enough but I felt it was way over priced for what it was. Color was nice, thought it ran large, I wear a size 12 and the large looked big on me. I returned it because I did not like the way it looked on me and felt it was pricey. Was looking for a nice hooded rain jacket, I think this was but did not care for it myself.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Vangroovy Colour is off but the construction seems spot on
As rfish righted stated, the 'garnet' has a lot of orange tones. It's actually more like looking at the insides of a blood orange and the fabric has a slightly sun-faded sheen. I find it looks too much like the hyper-coloured safety equipment I have near my office cube but I can't be bothered sending the jacket back from Canada and will just deal with the colour.
I'm a 6' 3X #gotta have room for my bulky sweater#. The jacket is well-constructed and all the seams are straight and tight. I would have liked an inside pocket and snap closured for the price #the Velcro scratches my hands every time I put something into the pockets#. The zipper is sturdy and the fabric seems to be pretty rain resistant #I wore it while I walked to work in a drizzle and didn't see any wet spots on my clothes#. LOVE the grommets under the arm for air circulation.
At my height, the jacket falls at or just below my jeans zipper terminal #all waist draw strings are useless at my height#.
Lost some points because it's not packable and I don't know why LLBean didn't include that since the jacket isn't much bulkier than my beloved anorak and that packs itself into its own pocket.
Time will tell if this replaces the great anorak in my heart. Will definitely be in a different colour, though.

Just got my jacket the other day. I didn't want a really bright color. So I ordered the tan color . I wasn't sure how these jackets ran , I usually take a large petite..so that is what I ordered. The jacket fit beautifully! I am also very pleased with the color, which is a very rich deep tan color . I wasn't sure I was going to like the white zipper?but it really adds something to the jacket. The fabric is a nice weight..not too light, but heavy enough to wear in the Spring. (if it ever gets here). Overall, the jacket is really very nice.

This jacket will be great for those spring rainy days out on the golf course! The material is sturdy, yet not real weighty! Love the drawstring waist. It will also be a good travel jacket as it can be rolled easily. Love the orange color I choose too!

When I received this jacket I was even more pleased than I thought I would be. The fabric is soft yet heavy enough to protect from the elements. Would work well with long sleeves for all except our mountain winters. The styling is attractive and functional-love the white zipper and accents. The fit is perfect-exactly as I would expect a 1X to fit-able to zip comfortably, sleeve length just right and about high thigh length on a 5'4" person. The blue color is fantastic!

Rated 4 out of 5 by rfish would recommend with a caveat.....
I've been looking for this type of jacket for quite a while to replace a nylon wind breaker. This looked pretty close to what I wanted. I ordered the red which on line looked like a dark red, described as garnet. It was anything but garnet. It's quite bright and a kind of orangey red. I would have preferred the darker red, but found this acceptable. Also, for the price, I expected a little more in the way of interior pockets or even diagonal pockets in the front along with the patch pockets. It is a very basic jacket. To be fair it was not advertised with additional pockets. I also found the cords on the interior of the jacket, that tighten the waist, had no leather stops, or any other stops, like there are on the outside of the jacket. Thought that was cheap. Now the good news. I ordered the medium petite, which was very comfortable and roomy. It's great for layering. I just wore it in the rain and the water just beaded up, and it is a great windbreaker. Keeps me very comfortable. Very light weight and will pack easily.

Rated 2 out of 5 by LLbeanjacketexpert Wanted this jacket!
I was thrilled to find this jacket in a tan color for spring. I have a lot of LLBean jackets, love em! I ordered it a large..way too big, returned it and got a medium...too narrow but the top was roomy. Had to return the jacket and gave up :(
