Rated 5 out of 5 by DebMo Great multipurpose outdoor wear
The first plus for me with these pants is that they are offered in petite sizing. I'm 5'2' 128lbs and ordered a PM. I'm very pleased with the fit. I have room to add another thin layer if needed. The fabric is thick stretchy and very compfy. So far I wore them on a long distance 11mile hike in snowy wet conditions. The temp was 22-28 degrees F and I added a base layer. I was not too warm. As others in my group wore gaiters I did not need to with these pants. They fitted snugly over my boots and stayed in place due to a rubber material at the bottom. Perfect to keep debris and moisture from going into my boots.
Yesterday wore them for a run in the rain about 48degeesF. I did not wear a base layer and they were very comfortable. I stayed relatively dry. The rain beaded up on the fabric and did not soak into the fabric. Quick to dry when I went indoors.
I highly recommend these pants if you are an active outdoor (all type) weather person. The pants are very versitile and worth every penny. I plan on wearing them to XC ski and row on colder days.

The snow in our area left too soon for a ski test, but these pants have been great for hiking on cold days. Warm, wind & weather shedding. They look & fit great.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Ethel1 Did not care for fit
I am 5'6 ,112 orderd the small. They fit but just don't feel like they will stay on my waist. I have a problem with my calves being larger and they were just too tight on my lower legs. I wanted to love them but overall I am just not happy with the fit at the waist line either.
Unfortunately they will be returned.

These are quite possibly the most comfortable pants I have ever worn. Very warm in 10 degree whether in Boston. The petite S fits me perfectly except for the rear which rides up a little . I love the low rise in the front though. Very happy that this company sources and makes their products in the USA.

I have the women's Sporthill Traverse pants which I use for xc skiing and I like them. The Callaghan's are more like tights and I thought they would fit better under my gaiters. I am 5' 2" and weigh 145. My hips measure 39 ". I am thick through the waist. I ordered the xl as I did with my traverse pants which are comfortable even if the size for a 5' 2" frame sounds huge. I did have to shorten them. I need a long rise for comfort.
The Callaghans are definitely styled more as a tight. The rise was too short for me and the legs were too long to be ideal. When I put the traverse pants back on they felt so much better. They fit at the waist which is good when it's cold and I realized they transition better to after ski activities. Actually more flattering.
I would recommend the Callaghan's for those of you who do not mind the waist below the belly button, are not vertically challenged and do not have middle aged figure flaws.
The only drawback to Sporthill 3SP fabric is that it is a magnet for lint and animal hair. You also need to wash in cold water and air dry. Hopefully the only flaws you will find are that they eventually show signs of wear from repeated use having fun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NewGrandma2 5 stars, but you need to know...
I love these. They are warm (45 is the lowest I've tested them at) and it seems it could be much colder and I would still be comfortable. A caveat: I am long-waisted and have a short rise and average to short legs. The pants are low cut, but just right for me. I am about 5'6" and they are also long so they bunch a bit around my calves and ankles, but that doesn't bother me as they still look ok. These pants do exactly what I want them to do...keep me warm when I'm walking and it is cold or chilly. One downside, I have an orange tabby, and they attract cat hair! But maybe that is not so unusual.

Rated 4 out of 5 by vermontette remember it's sporthill sizing, warm & comfy
Warmer than I had thought they would be but since I live in VT that's fine; I use them for running/xc skiing when it's below 25--above that, they're too warm. I usually wear a size 6 petite for Bean pants, but since these are Sporthill and my legs are on the chunky side I picked a petite medium and they fit fine, if a bit low in the rise.

These are pretty awesome for running in cold, windy weather here in Cleveland, OH. They are comfortable and fit well. A purchase I'm glad I made and well worth the $$ spent.

Only wintersport pants in petite. Fit perfectly. Warm and comfortable to wear. Snowshoed yesterday in 4 degree weather with light long underwear and my legs/seat were never cold or wet. Also they look great! At 5'2 and 120 lbs, wearing a size 6, the medium petites fit well. Well worth every penny!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ahsayma Cut too low.
These pants would be great if they were not cut so low. For a cold-weather exercise pant, I want something that protects my mid-section from the cold and wind.
Quality is excellent and articulated knees are a plus, but this pant is designed for fashion (low riding) rather than for function.
