This is the 3rd of the 20" Ridge Runners that we have. My older son and daughter each have one, and they love it. We just got one for my 7 year old son, and as a former bike mechanic, I am impressed that they chose to spec this updated version of the bike without the suspension fork, which is useless and adds weight. The bike is better with a standard fork.
On the other hand, I am not impressed that they chose to remove the braze-ons on the bottom of the down tube, which would enable one to affix a bottle cage. A kid doesn't need a suspension fork, but they definitely need a water bottle!
While I am very happy with the bike overall, removing the ability to affix a bottle cage in the standard fashion was a poor decision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NYCskiMom quality bike for a good price
My 8 year old son loves his new bike. The bike gears are a little stiff for him to change, but I think this is partly from the newness of the bike as well as him learning how to properly use them. He also has to get used to using hand brakes, but that will come with time. This is a very sturdy bike which should last him for several years. We are very happy with the purchase.

We got this for our 7 year old as her first bike with multiple gears. She's an average sized girl and this bike had to be adjusted to the lowest seat position for her, but that said, it should last her a while. I wish the seat was easier to adjust -- it requires an allyn wrench.

Rated 5 out of 5 by gr8fuldoug Great quality and the best in a birthday surprise
This bike arrived in time to get over to the local bike shop and for $80.00 they assembled it for us (wanted to make sure it was built correctly) and the next day we surprised our boy with it on his 9th birthday. he LOVES it. As he says "all we need now is a bell"
