Rated 3 out of 5 by FancyNance Way too long
I was so disappointed when I tried these on, only to find out that they were far too long for me. Because of how they are designed (lower leg zipper and Velcro tab at the ankle), there is no way to either roll them up or cut them off. I am 5' 2" and ordered a petite length, which typically fits great (I have an number of LL Bean pants in my closet). The inseam of these pants measures 30" rather than the usual inseam of 28" for petite length. I would recommend them to a taller person, though someone who is 5' 4 or 5' 5" may do better with the petite length. The pants are otherwise well constructed.
I was replacing a pair of LLBean waterproof pants I had for 12+ years that had lost their waterproof properties, and the length of those pants was great.
I will return them.

Returned these because the full length zipper on the sides made it look bulky and wavy. I don't know if they were rain proof, but I just could not wear them the way they looked. I liked the zipper at the bottom where it is easy to put your boots on. Definitely not necessary to have a full length zipper. I was going to use these on a motorcycle trip. I'm 4'11" weigh 138lbs, bought Petite large. The fit at waist was good liked the fact that waist is adjustable. A little long on me, but would have been OK with boots.
Suggestion: place the zipper only up the knee.

Great quality, nice looking. The smallest size available is a bit big for my 5'2" 100 lb stature but am keeping them anyway because I like them that much. Generally I don't like rip stop nylon but these pants seem to be sturdy and look nice on. I do recommend, just wish I could have gotten a smaller size. I hope they will wash and wear well because they will get a lot of use outside in the mucky weather with my large and messy dog-

Rated 4 out of 5 by JB68 Great pants, great service from L L Bean
I am 5ft 2" and I found the medium size perfect. I also live in Australia and nervously relied on the measurements published on the web site. These were a perfect guide. I received my pants in less than three weeks, this is fantastic service. Thanks you for a wonderful experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LesIsmoor Excellent wind/rain pants
Very comfortable. Not too baggy. Easily fit over my high Boggs. Warm over leggings and light pants down to zero F. With wind and lower temps, needed another layer. Nice adjustable waistband. Good side pockets. I will get a ton of use out of these.
I'm 5'6" or so, and weigh about 135. The length and fit of the small regular worked perfectly for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by rmschrey Only buy if you have a tiny waist!!!
I needed ski pants and these were such a deal that I went ahead and got them in a size large. Which fit perfectly except I can not even close the waist area. Unfortunately, I needed them within 12 hours after they arrived, so I skied, with the top undone. Go up a size unless you have a wasp waist.

I bought these to wear snow shoveling with a base layer underneath. I'm 5'3" 145 lbs. and got the Petite Large. There is enough room to move around and shovel snow. I think if I wanted to wear them over hiking pants I would need the Petite XL. I tried shoveling snow in them while it was drizzling and the water beaded up. The 29" length is a bit long on me. I think LL Bean should consider 28" for the length of these in petite.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ChristineTK Great pants, strange fit.
These rain pants are just perfect and function as they should, but the sizing was unexpected. I usually don't like the pull up style, as the elastic waist doesn't offer adjustment and the seat gets all lumpy and baggy. Not the case with these, at least for me. I have a bigger waist and am straight through the hips. However I bought a size small in petite, and I am neither one! (5'6' and 135 lbs) The regular length would have dragged in the mud.

Rated 5 out of 5 by franfair LOVE these pants
I walk for transportation, commuting on foot through suburbia and along some hiking trails. These pants are great for fending off wind and wet. They're comfortable, have pockets, and even look reasonably good on me, passing for normal pants at a casual viewing distance. I have trouble buying pants because my hips are a size 2 and my waist is a size 12. I bought the XS regular and they fit fine over my jeans or long underwear plus jeans because of the adjustable waist. I'm 5'4" tall with short legs and they are almost, but not quite, too long for me, so, if you are very tall, they might not be long enough. I really appreciate the full-length side zippers because I can put these on in a sudden downpour without having to sit on a wet bench to get them on, and because I can unzip them from the bottom if I get stuck on an overheated bus (when I've got too much shopping to carry home). What else can I say? These are great rain pants that keep me comfortable on miserable days.
