Rated 5 out of 5 by Footlong Great ski pants, but run big
I bought these snowpants for my son last year. He was wearing size 10 pants at the time. He is average tall and very slim. After reviewing the comments, I ordered the size 8 snowpants, and they were still rather big on him, and the legs were even a bit long, but it worked with the ski boots.
This year, the ski pants fit him just right in length, even though size 10 regular pants are getting too short for my son already.
I now ordered size 10 snowpants for next year, and the size 8 will be handed down to his brother.
The snowpants kept my son, who easily gets cold, warm and dry, even in 20-degree weather with wind and freezing rain. They are easy to wash and dry, too. I like the color - it is bright, not neon, and it goes along with all of his jackets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by meskimom great pant but need more colors
My two sons used these pants for 30+ days of skiing at frigid Sugarloaf last winter. They kept the boys warm and dry, easily fit over their ski boots and were a cinch to adjust in the waist depending on how many or few layers were tucked in for the day. I was nervous about not having a bib pant, but we never had an issue with snow. The knees held up to afternoon sledding and playing in the snow. My only complaint is that LL Bean needs to make coordinating colors/patterns (preferably visible colors like last year's neon yellow pant option) for the Glacier Summit jackets. I bought black this year and the blue jacket, but wish there were other options like the girls' version has.

Just an FYI to other shoppers before they purchase: these are not a solid black. All of the top-stitching is in a grey thread. This was not noticeable in the pictures as displayed on my monitor and not in the item description. This is not a look I like, and I would not have purchased if I had known; however, it is a testament to the overall design and apparent quality that we are keeping them anyway. The adjustable waist, reinforced knees, and waterproof fabric were all key factors in the decision. (I actually purchased these for my daughter--the girl version is a very light grey and would show every bit of dirt my busy girl can find. How about a girl version in black, LLBean?) As long as the stitching isn't an issue for you, these appear to be a great pant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CountryMom Fantastic pants but they run big/are expandable
My 10 year old son tore through his snow pants last year and needed a decent pair for snow building and boarding. He loves these. They are infinitely adjustable, which is great for boys. The knees are reinforced, they are very warm, and well padded. They also look "cool." I wish LLB had more options for colors - perhaps some funkier choices like we're seeing on the ski mountain - but now in our second year with these pants and they are fabulous. The pants fit over snowboard and play boots well, so snow stays out and feet stay warm.
We bought a size 8 pant last year, he was wearing size 7/8 pants at the time. Now he's wearing 8/10 pants in other brands, and the 8's still fit. I suspect we'll get another year out of them. Baggy is good, so I'd order on size to slightly down.

Way too big for a boys size 16. Fit was feminine, not for boys. Very bulky and awkward styling. Expensive. I have to pay to ship them back, which is disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Buffbeanshopper Just what my son wanted!
Ordered size 8 for my average size 8 1/2 year old son and the fit is slightly big. He likes the orange color and the velcro at waist for tightening. Mom likes the insulation and waterproof material to keep him warm and dry on the ski slopes, sledding hills and back yard!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MTmomma great fit, excellent quality
This is the second pair of these snowpants for my son. His other pair lasted two seasons, thanks to the adjustable waist. My son is normally a size 12 slim. But after discussing the waist sizes with an L.L. Bean rep, opted for the 10. They are plenty long enough, and I was able to cinch the waist so the pants stay up. Definitely plan on using these for two years, as I know the quality is there and they will last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GreatFallsMom Great Value, High Quality
These are sturdy, well made ski pants that are truly water resistant...they run kind of big but that is OK...The adjustable waist band is great. I'm sure my kids will wear them a couple more seasons.
