OK, so I first ordered another pair of snow sneakers from LL Bean that I have already reviewed: AWFUL. Sent them back. Ordered these and they arrived in a few days. JUST FANTASTIC. I'm a walker and out everyday in the cold, snow, ice of winter. They are warm, fit perfectly, soft, and supportive. I am now wearing them beyond just 'walking' time. They feel like a good pair of tennis shoes. I also have plantar facilitis and so I need a good supportive shoe. Excellent! Highly recommend. Order 1/2 larger than your usual shoe as it's a Keen!

Going w/ the advice of prior reviewers I sized up, which turned out to be not a good idea for me! My foot was swimming in the 9, I am usually an 8 1/2. The boot was good looking, but the blue a little too bright for my taste. If the boots had fit to begin with i would have considered them keepers.

I LOVE THESE BOOTS!
I've been searching for years for a boot that's rugged, has enough toe room, can be worn with different weight socks, and that is comfortable without feeling like lead on my feet. I've tried every kind of boot you can imagine and finally decided to try the Keens. I have Keen low hikers and Keen river wader sandals, but for some reason, never tried the Keen Targhee II boots. These are without a doubt the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. Right out of the box they feel as if I've worn them for years. They have just the right amount of support and padding. I walked 2 miles in them at first wearing, and they are sturdy and waterproof as advertised. Buy these boots! You won't be sorry.

These books are quite wide. My foot moves around far too much inside the boot, so unfortunately they will need to go back.

These are a bit wide in the toe but better a bit wide than a bit narrow! Cut a tad high under the ankle.
Heavy lugs on sole are great for trail but will usually have to be removed before coming in the house because they'll hold more than the recommended amount of mud/grass/debris for tracking in.
Bottom line: dry feet are happy feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Auntbooglie Excellent shoe!
I wore these straight out of the box on a ten mile hike through rugged terrain. Normally, this would be a bad idea, but I was in a bind. I didn't need to worry. These shoes are fantastic! No chafing, no blisters, no cramped toes, no slippage on tree roots or mud...and they really are waterproof. I accidentally stepped into ankle deep muck and my socks remained perfectly dry. My feet did not ache at the end of the trail. I got these on sale, but would gladly pay full price if I ever needed to replace them. They're worth every cent. I ordered a half size up so they'd fit comfortably with my thick socks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Curlieq20 These are a great pair of hiking boots!
I originally had Merrill hiking boots, and decided to return them because after hiking or traveling down a slope my small toes would feel cramped and would often get hot (close to blistering), due to the narrowness of the boot. I had tried a size up of the Merrills, but they still were not cutting it. Bought these, and I'm so glad that I did! I normally wear a size 7 or 7 1/2, but ended up buying a 7 1/2 in these, and I have no regrets! I love how they are wider in the front, so my little toes are free. Would definitely recommend.

I have several pairs of Keen shoes and I just love them because they are so versatile and handy when traveling or just running errands. I love them! As most know, when buying Keens, you need to size up about 1/2 a size so they fit right. I've worn these shoes just once on a one hour walk up a rocky road about a 25% grade and they have great support and are very stable for hiking. No blisters or problems and they are comfortable right out of the box.

I needed a shoe for hiking in Baxter State Park. I have long toes, and normally order a 7-7.5 shoe. The Keens I got were a 7.5 and fit perfectly. The toe area is nice and wide. I took these up Double Top Mountain, and my feet didn't hurt and they stayed dry. I will definitely be buying Keens again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by pesti13 Down from "Excellent" to "Good"
I have worn Keens for many years now, and this is my 3rd pair of these specific shoes (Targhee II). I use them for everyday walking, light hiking and as my go-to travel shoes, I also ran the Tough Mudder in them as I didn't want to wear flimsy running sneakers!! By all accounts, my Keens have always been great - they fit right out of the box and require no "breaking in". The only reason that these have gone down slightly in rating from me is that the soles seem stiffer, the toe box less comfortable than my previous two pairs. Also, the size of the ankle opening seems to be slightly more elongated than previously as I find my heel lifting off the insole as they never did before. I ignored it at first, but I know Keens always fit right, first time, every time I've owned them so I'm actually very tempted to return them even though I've worn them a fair bit now. Anyway, overall I still really love these shoes but in case anyone else has had a similar experience, I thought I'd share mine.
