I have EXTREMELY fair skin and get tired of having to constantly slather on sunscreen every time I need to work in the yard, so, I thought I'd give Tropicwear Shirts a try. Since I'm just doing yard work, I don't care what the shirt looks like. I ordered this men's shirt because, for some reason, clothing manufacturers believe women only come in regular and petite sizes while men only come in regular and tall sizes. I need the extra length in the arms that men's clothing provide, but, they never fit the rest of my hourglass quite right. The fit matters, but, being female, my opinion of the fit probably doesn't pertain to most folks shopping for this shirt. I have found that this shirt does a fantastic job of protecting my skin from the harmful rays of the sun. My skin has been known to burn through shirts and these shirts prevent that even when I spend an entire, long, sunny, summer's day outdoors. Although a bit cooler than most other fabrics and MUCH better at wicking and drying sweat than cotton, the breathability factor of this shirt is just for dealing with sweat, not heat. Do not expect to be as cool and comfortable in this long sleeved shirt as you would be in a short sleeved t-shirt. When the temperature hits the upper 90's, I have to abandon these shirts and opt for sunscreen instead.

I am very satisfied with this shirt. It is the type of shirt that can be worn in the heat of the summer and as well as in the fall.

I bought this shirt last year for casual, day-excursion wear while on an eastern Med. cruise. I felt cool every day I wore it and it provided sun protection. This summer I took it along to Europe and the temperatures everywhere were upper 80's to mid-90's. Especially, Florence and Rome called for this shirt, and the NO FLY Trail Shirt that I had just purchased.
It's a good "Hawaiian" shirt too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MississippiMatt Great multipurpose shirt!
This shirt is great to wear anywhere. I have worn it to work on casual Friday with it tucked in and the sleeves rolled down, but also to social events worn untucked with the sleeves rolled up (because of the short sleeve conversion) with shorts. Then also changed a flat tire in it when it was 100 degrees outside. I was soaked in sweat but it dried by the time we got to the restaurant. I have the Pastel Blue and love it!

I buy sunscreen shirts for my husband who is in intense sun to work. These keep him from burning and are nice enough to go to town in as well. He REALLY likes these shirts. I bought the women's version for myself and found them to be too hot. He likes saunas and I don't. They hold up well with many washings.

They are really nice. They're good looking and comfortable..My only complaint is that they have sewn in labels at the collar, which I find annoying.

This is a great shirt, especially for Spring. Generously cut for freedom of movement. Long sleeves for cooler days and lightweight for those warmer ones. I get many compliments on its looks at work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by luvluvbean great shirt!
My husband ordered this shirt and really likes it. The fit is good, and the fabric is comfortable. It washes well and doesn't really need long in the dryer. Can be worn long sleeved with a T shirt under it for a cooler day or sleeves rolled up in hot weather. It was displayed in the fishing section of the Freeport store but I bet it would make a great hiking shirt too.

Rated 2 out of 5 by jackct Nice Shirt- Awful Color
The shirt is the usual top quality of LL Bean in terms of construction, fabric, etc. The color (or lack thereof) leaves much to be desired. Pick one of the other options and you'll be satisfied.
