Rated 1 out of 5 by fabricfanatic When percale is not percale
I know a smooth firm percale when I feel it. When I opened the sheets and pillowcases I was dubious that they would remain CRISP wash after wash as they seemed a bit too silky and smooth. I had purchased these percale hoping they would be the same high quality sheets LLBean has offered for years and years. One wash later and I have limp, flabby sheets. The lint produced in the dryer proved these sheets were not woven with thicker higher ply fiber content. Was the cotton thread produced in the USA? I bet not. Some folks may want rumply, frumpy beds, but I long for the crisp smooth sheets of yesteryear. Does anybody make them any more? I do not even mind ironing them, if they would only have a crisp, firm finish. I guess I will have to starch these new ones to get the bed linens I expected.

Rated 4 out of 5 by mjd1943 too small
the sheets are great. love the fabric, feel, and fit. Pillow cases are too small. Can barely get pillow into case. End of pillow sticking out by morning. Have used and washed so can't exchange for larger ones. Never had this problem before.

Having had wonderful LL Bean percale pillowcases in the past, I was terribly disappointed in this very low quality product. Very thin material, nubby and rough to the touch. Not at all crisp, not smooth, I returned them and as usual LLBean refunded promptly. But what a loss! Where will I find those wonderful pillowcases and sheets that they sold some years ago? .

Rated 1 out of 5 by DrJJoyner Color not as shown or described
The sheets came highly reviewed so I figured I'd give them a try. I ordered the "Silver Sand" color, which shows on every screen I own as a dark, silvery color. The sheets are in fact just plain beige sheets. There's not even a hint of silver to them.
Additionally, because I'm used to sheets coming in sets, it didn't occur to me to order pillowcases. Alas, they're not in stock for another month.

Rated 3 out of 5 by gratefulmom Color is not accurate
I agree with other reviewers that the color shown online is very different from what I received. I ordered the mid-blue expecting quite a dark color, almost a light navy. Instead the color is a very medium blue - it looks more like a slightly darker version of "Lake". I bought these to go with a patterned sheet set that needs new pillowcases, but these do not match at all. I cannot comment on the quality as I am not even opening the package.

I ordered the mid blue colored pillowcases to go with the ultra soft cotton comforter in the red/blue/tan plaid. On the screen it looked to be the perfect color. The color that I received is completely different than is shown on the website. It is more of a medium country blue. Disappointed. Otherwise seem to be nice quality.

Great quality material.
Love the lilac colour.
No wrinkles if taken out of the dryer right away.
Bought the pillow cases and the king fitted sheet.
Colour goes well with the heirloom purple matalesse covers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by madisonres Queen sized pillow cases not available.
I love the feel and quality of these pillowcases but I have a queen sized bed and queen sized pillowcases. Queen sized sheets are available but not queen sized pillowcases. Thus, my only choice was to buy king sized pillowcases which are way to long and will have to be altered.
If queen sized sheets are offered, queen sized pillow cases should also be offered.

Rated 3 out of 5 by TTBinBermuda Interesting fabric
I read some of the reviews before buying, and was interested to note that some said crisp and some said slippery. Now that I have them, I have to agree with the second opinion. They are not what I think of as Percale, which is hard to define but has a little 'tooth'. Not rough, but not slippery either.
I also noticed that some reviewers mentioned tears - either already in the sheets or were easy to tear. I must say that the fabric looks and feels pretty indistructable to me!
I have washed them in a hot wash and this hasn't made them more crisp. I dried them on the line in hot hot sun (in Bermuda) which perhaps was a mistake, as I think they would iron better if slightly damp. I haven't yet dried them in a dryer.
Overall, I would say the quality is good, but little disappointed that not more of what I think of percale. I use them for tourist guest apartments, and suspect they will last forever!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MidwestNormal Terrific sheets
The Windowpane sheets have exceeded my expectations. The deep-pocket fitted sheets easily fit onto the mattress. The pillow cases are large enough to slip over pillows. Have washed these sheets 4 times and haven't found anything to complain about.
